Description
Today (October 21st 2013) is the 10th anniversary (unless you live in Europe, in which it was October 3rd) of one of the greatest video-games of all time, and one of the first Game Cube games I played (practically the first) “Wallace & Gromit in Project Zoo” (2003).
This game is very fun to play, with an excellent gameplay, nice graphics, and a very interesting mood.
The story follows the dynamic duo (with Peter Sallies reprising his role as Wallace) on their journey to save the “West Wallaby Zoo” as well as their adopted Polar Bear friend “Archie” from the evil penguin “Feathers McGraw’’ (the villain from 1993’s “The Wrong Trousers”) from a criminal plot. In the zoo, he forces the parent animals to work, by holding the babies hostage in cages.
The gameplay features Gromit rescuing the babies, who are..
Elephants – The Jungle House
Beavers – The Mines
Gorillas - Volcanic Factory
Panda Bears – Storage House
Polar Bears – Artic Enclosure
And Zebras – Diamond-o-matic machine.
Wallace uses his tools to help fix broken machinery: it is sad that he isn’t playable, but this does showcase his importance to the franchise. The locations & levels are also great and imaginative: However, it feels very alien for a W&G production. As strange as ‘Curse of the Wear-Rabbit” was, this feels like hoping into another dimension.
I really don’t know what else to say except, play it for yourself- you won’t regret it.
