Description
Oh boy... Looking through my WIP folder, I stumbled across this! So old~!A little something for all Klonoa Fans out there from me, which knows almost nothing (or not enough, at least) about this little fellow. This was drawn around a year ago, when I got what I call the Klonoa Fever. Anyway, I just got around and finished it today, haha.
So yeah... Like I said, I'm not as familiar with this character as I should be. All I can say is that this is Klonoa, Namco's Mascot. I've only played one game starring him and it's called Klonoa Heroes : Densetsu no Star Medal. It was quite fun, I must say. But I never got around to finishing it. I've always wanted to draw a picture of him and his sword (which, I think, is called the wind sword... Does it have an actual name?) So that's the result.
It doesn't look very polished; I was too eager to finish it, as with all the previous pictures I've submitted. I dunno why, I'm like that
Enough of my rambling, enjoy the picture! I promise the next one's Sonic-related

Klonoa! I've only played one game of his, and that one was on the PS1. I really need to get the one on the PS2 ><

Huzzah for Klonoa love.
If you have a PS2 you should definitely try to get a hold of the first 2 games- Klonoa: Door to Phantomile (PS), and Klonoa: Lunatea's Veil (PS2). Riding on the hoverboard as teenage Klonoa is so freaking awesome and fun you'll find yourself replaying those levels again and again. (The ice one has some crazy Klonoian/Japanese song playing in the background that's really cute, too. I think it's supposed to be Klonoa singing.)
Surprisingly, I found the first one to be much harder than the sequel. It's mostly because the graphics are much better in the second one (you can actually SEE the distance between you and the stuff far away from you, so you know you need to JUMP and THROW the moo BACK there instead of trying to just throw it repeatedly and failing miserably at it and not knowing why), but a lot of the levels are actually more challenging in the first one. The only level that came close to the old ones was right before fighting the final boss in Lunatea's Veil, where you have to hop up these disappearing platforms using those flying bird moo and then chuck them perfectly at the buttons across the way while you're falling back down. (THAT particular maneuver took me around 13 tries to get. I actually did a little victory dance after I got through the timed passage.)
Anyway, my point is, if you can manage to find them, get them. Enjoy them. They're sweet. XD
Awesome job with the coloring, btw. It looks just like the PS2 art.

Wow Sonicolas... Just wow...
Breathtaking stuff there my friend! I love how this turned out! It's extremely rare to see Klonoa fan-art posted on DA or even on the internet and to be able to witness a masterpiece like this is a pleasure and welcome.
I really like how you gave Klonoa that dramatic pose! His expression with the smile and look in the eyes adds depth to the dramatic pose.
The overall colouring, effects and shading is something to behold. The shine of light beeming from the sword is absolutely marvelous and so are the little round lights that shed a tear of brightness. The shine that is reflected onto Klonoa is spot on (the yellowness on Klonoa's left part of the head/torso/arm/ears). Excellent work overall.
Oh and one final note: BUY KLONOA 2: LUNATEA'S VEIL!!!! XXXXXXXXD

Did you undergo a slight CG change? At first glance, the preview gave me the impression that your coloring technique matured a bit! It's not as plastic/soft as it used to be. In fact, it reminds me more of that Sonic style you were trying to achieve a while back!
Nice stuff! Feels just like a game!
Keep it up! (Post more!!! Just kidding, take your time.)

I can see it looks like you got possibly inspired of the official Klonoa Heroes poster. I love how you colored very smoothly overall. Awesome pose, as well.
It seems as if the BG took more time and effort to color. Maybe it's just me.
Overall a very good job. X3

You're absolutely right about the two points X3
The BG completly comes from that group poster of the game. I even wanted to do the moon like it at first but it wouldn't make the sword stand out. I think you also recognize the ruins up he front of the picture to be similar to the ones behind the group in the official picture. ^^
And yes, there's actually 2 colouring styles in there: Klonoa himself was coloured with a mouse on the laptop months ago while the BG was done with the tablet on CRT. Though it took less time do to the BG (one night) than the character (maybe 2 days?). I know it looks like it's the other way around
Thanks for the comment!

Pac-Man!
This is awesome "O___O" I am honestly impressed at this. I like the use of colors because it makes everything look so.. alive. I was always impressed by your coloring job, but it always seemed so.. soft and smooth.. like shading wise.. obviously there are a few exceptions, but this definitely has shines and.. liveness everywhere.. so I'm deeply impressed. I hope you understand what I mean "XD;" I really love your work, but I feel this is especially good.
Speaking of especially, I especially like how the yellow shine-thing that Klonoa is wielding is bouncing off his hat XD Just makes it look a lot more.. powerful. And everything is so dark, too.. being riddled by the night, but having powerful forces around you and lighting you up. The lineart is brilliant, too. I like how some areas are hold and some aren't.. just shows great cleanyness in lineart so this is very impressive! Well-done~

hey! You should play Lunatea's Veil, its a facsinating and excellent game
But anyhow, this picture looks stunningly excellent! Your CG style is always so cut clean yet fitting in with the dark enviroment.. xD *I think I got redundant on that..*
Klonoa's pose there is flawless and the light effect looks uber-awesome! As well as the glow of the fireflies around him, the moon, and the light from the grass and rock .. the movement really shows there with the glowy wind sword!
The clouds look excellently blurred, but maybe it might be cooler if you added more on the sky .. like stars. But the best part is that its not distracting so viewers will focus on Klonoa anyways
Spectacular work Nick!
