Description
"so, Mr. Steel's retiring, huh?" Brandon Buquet, one of the head lighting technicians said as he and one of his fellows finished replacing a burnt-out bulb on one of the lamps."yeah. i guess he got tired of all the ghost stuff or something"
"SHHH!" Buquet hissed. his assistant looked up in surprise.
"watch your tongue!" Brandon whispered, looking around "the walls have ears, you know!"

"attention, attention, please!" the tall, gruff form of Julius Steel, now former manager of the Opera, called across the stage where he stood with the two men whom he had been speaking with in his office. slowly, the mass of people ceased what they were doing and turned to look at him.
"as you are no doubt aware, there have been rumors of my retirement circulating around" Steel began. Carlotta, the Soprano, froze where she had been fanning herself, looking expectant.
"i can now tell you that these rumors are true" Steel went on. Carlotta smirked in triumph at Piangi, the Tenor, who only grimaced in disgust at losing their bet.
"and so allow me to Introduce your new Managers, Mssrs. Andre and Firmin, who have recently made a fortune on the Junk business-"
"Scarp metal" Andre cut in. All eyes turned quickly to look at him in his dark red coat with a pointed beard, and equally pointed hair.
"scrap metal" he said again, before falling silent.
"indeed. and now, if you don't mind, I will turn this over to them..." he trailed off to a smattering of applause.
"Thank you, Mr. Steel" Firmin said, stepping forward. Every bit as imposing as the towering Steel, he was dressed in a brown suit with a dark green shirt, and sported a beard straight out of the 19th century, flaring out to both sides. It made him look almost like some great ape. as he began to speak, a young man in a black Asian shirt with a pattern of a dragon across the front stepped up beside him
“Ladies and Gentlemen, we are deeply honored to introduce the Opera’s latest sponsor, Lance De Chagny, of the Chagny Corporation.” Firmin said as he clapped the young man on the back. The boy staggered for a moment, but quickly righted himself.
“My Father sends his regrets that he could not be here for this moment. He is most excited about this opportunity. My family has always supported the arts, and we hope that we can continue to do so. However, I feel I’m interrupting your rehearsal? I will be here tonight to share in your great triumph”
the young man quickly walked off the stage past the dancers, followed by Andre and Firmin as the troupe returned to their work.
The Chorus girls all looked after him approvingly.
“hmmm….he MUST be loaded” one whispered.
“ohh, and what a Stud!” another giggled.
“did you see what he drove up in? I almost fainted!” another whispered. Ilana barely listened. She only smirked with self-satisfaction as Kristine gaped in disbelief.
“I…I don’t believe it. It’s him.” She whispered.
“huh? See, didn’t I tell you?” Ilana smirked “didn’t I tell you you’d be surprised? I called THAT, sister!”

That'll happen. The translation to color can sometimes ruin an otherwise great piece. XP

I'm just saying they're a tad rough around the edges is all. You said they were background characters, it sounded like you didn't put any effort into them. I could've just misunderstood. So sorry.
