It seems someone has left behind a premier ball by your base, but the owner is no where to be found. Would you like to keep it?

Skylie flopped down onto the bed located in Wren's base. She groaned as she deflated into the piece of furniture layered with blankets. A jolt to the lass's back caused her to let out a curse in alarm. She craned her neck as far as she could to see what had landed on her.
"You think you're so funny Regulus. Keep it up and I'll shave your mane off," she warned jokingly with squinted eyes. The fire lion simply huffed at her before curling up on the small of her back. Skylie didn't mind too much since the little pokemon practically radiated heat from his furry body. Which this successfully relieved a lot of stress from her muscles whenever he decided to lounge somewhere on her so she was never too inclined to boot him off.
The trainer let out another groan. "Dangit Wren! I need to get one of these places myself sometime!" she declared with frustration. "This thing is so comfy- OWCH!" she yelped as claws dug into her backside telling her to shut up.
The lass grumbled from the pain as she looked over to what her skitty was doing. The little female normal type peered up curiously at a large plush meowth. Her ears were pointed forward as she inspected everything about the toy. A playful grin spread across her features as she raised a paw at the item. A curt hiss from Skylie halted any thought of clawing at the plush though. The skittly looked back at her trainer sheepishly before moving on to something else.

Wren came down the stairs, dropping her bag of books and pokemon supplies down as she came, looking up and grinning at Skylie, happy to se one of her friends finally visiting this place. She lifted up her dress slightly, revealing the poke balls hidden under it, letting them go. Soon, her pokemon appeared and began to mull about the large stone room.
She walked over to the bed, sitting next to her friend but being careful as to where the little lion pokemon was sleeping, or trying to. The last thing she wanted to do was disturb it. As soon as she sat down, however, her pink poochyena came running over, little bell jingling from the yellow ribbon around her neck, and leaped onto the bed, sniffing the litleo very careful before jumping on to Wren's lap, smiling at this new person. Mikasa hadn't met very many people, probably only Kyle ironically. Wren had been trying to be close to her friends once more, but she hadn't even told them what had happened, so the change in her personality had probably not gone unnoticed, but they and nothing to reason as to why that was... Of course, it was a hard thing to explain...
She could hardly believe it sometimes herself... Except that when she fell asleep at night here or at her condo she knew that it had happened, she could feel the fear, relive the moment in nightmares. . . but each nightmare was a little better, each time a little different as she, in her dream, became a little braver. A small sign that she was changing, growing stronger in herself, just as she had promised she would after the mugging had happened. She didn't want to depend on others anymore, she didn't want to know what would have happened if the skitty hadn't jump rout when it did, or if Kyle hadn't shown up shortly after.
"ok, so you gotta tell me, how's life in Ivywood treating you? I feel like I don't see you nearly enough anymore tell me everything."" She said, looking over at her and Skylie's pokemon. Her skitty, Roxas, seemed very keen on the fact that he was not the only skitty anymore, as he approached the new skitty of Skylie's with curiosity, tail tip flicking back and forth.

Alsia's ears perked at a noise from the entrance. She ran off to hide out underneath the bed only to find out that the newcomer was someone similar enough to her own trainer. She poked her head out from underneath the shelter as the unfamiliar trainer sent out her own pokemon. A sly grin played across Alsia's face as she scampered out to see what pranks could be pulled before she was caught and roped in.
She quickly honed in on a pokemon that very much resembled herself. As the other skitty took notice of her and approached she waited with apprehension for a moment before a flickering movement caught her eye. She watched intently at Roxas' swaying tail before lunging to catch it, paying little heed as to how the male would react to her sudden burst of play.
On the bed Skylie took notice of Wren's arrival and watched the brunette released a number of pokemon. The lass smiled as Alsia perked up at seeing another of her kind emerge from the party causing Skylie to hope that the two skittys could get along. Among the others released was a poochyena that definitely peaked Skylie's interest. It was pink afteral, trainers didn't see those too often however this one fit well with Wren. She watched carefully as it bounded over to the bed where Wren had now seated herself. Skylie cringed slightly as Regulus tensed up after taking notice of the hyena-like pokemon. The lass could feel a low rumble sound through her litleo's body as Mikasa neared as far as she could before darting onto her trainer's lap.
Skylie put out a few hushed words to get the princely pokemon back into a calmer state before she addressed Wren's words.
"Well similarly to you I suppose," the blonde lass said with a pause. "Less social perhaps, but it hasn't been too bad. Work at the daycare has been taking up most of my time the past couple of weeks. Lots of little pokemon to watch over and make sure they don't maim one another, which, they do have their adorable moments so it's not absolutely dreadful to wake up in the mornings," she detailed with a little giggle. "In all honesty it's not too different from home. ...I know I had expected different, more exciting at least, but I guess I'm suited to the lifestyle," she concluded with a rather content sigh as Regulus repositioned himself a little which sent out a new wave of warmth from his body.
"What about you little miss farm girl? The city life all you thought it was cracked up to be?" she asked with a grin as she turned the tables around. It was true that since their arrival in Ivywood and consequent reunion, Wren had definitely changed. It was subtle, but it was there. She wasn't quite the same girl that Skylie knew from the farm next door. Skylie thought that it was a change for the better but she would like to hear Wren's thoughts on how things were. It had been a while since they last spoke and it seemed as though something had happened, but Skylie couldn't be sure until she heard it from Wren personally.

Roxas let out a squeak of surprise as the playful skitty did something he, as a more relaxed pokemon, had not anticipated. He turned around to face the skitty but Wren watched as instead of anger Roxas' expression became a playful one and the male skitty leaped at the Skyle's skitty. It was a nice sight to see, since Roxas tended to lean on the untrusting side when it came to other pokemon or their trainers. That was probably something from his upbringing though, which she assumed had been either a full street life or one where he had been very quickly abandoned to live life on the streets. Yes, Roxas hadn't had it easy, but his life was pretty good now that he was with her, or at least Wren certainly liked to think that.
AS she was watching the skitty's play, her hand stayed on her pink poochyena, adjusting the yellow bow back and forth, the little bell in the middle jingling slightly as she did this, but she had started doing that more often when her poochyena was around as a fidget of sorts. Her Nidorina had long since decided i liked exploring more than cuddling after it had evolved, but thankfully it seemed Mario and Mikasa more than filled that roll for her snuggling needs. The raichu and poochyena where more than snuggly enough that often one if not both where quite close by.
Listening, she made sure Mikasa didn't go any closer to the litleo, who didn't seem to appreciate the Poochyena's presence as much as the poochyena was totally enjoying the litleo. Skylie spoke of work and Wren nodded in agreement. She certainly knew how that was, she worked almost constantly now. Mind you, now that it was more teaching than the other duties of a librarian she had found herself strangely feeling refreshed, like she had a new sense of purpose almost. In her free time she usually found herself with a book, gathering material and practising speeches in places outside of the town and thus outside of her comfort zone... You know, if she wasn't training with Kyle.
However, when the question turned back to her, the large smile faltered just slightly, her hand stopped fidgeting with the little bell, curling instead gently around the soft pink fur of her poochyena.
She wondered how much she should say, she was already such a burden she didn't want to be a bother to anyone else... But Skylie was on of her best friends, and had been since as long as she could remember. One of the only other girls as well. . . So Wren was as close to her as almost any other. They where practically family, in Wren's mind.
"I suppose you should be careful what you wish for." she said lightly, smiling, but the smile didn't quite reach her eyes. "I wanted the exciting city life, and boy did I get it I-" She paused a few days ago, letting her eyes wander back to the skitty's, before rephrasing. "I didn't find Roxas in the garbage cans, like I tell most people." she said, pausing. "he, uh, he found me. leaped out and scared off someone when I-"
Gosh, it was so hard to say it out loud. Not because she was still afraid, because ti was over now, that she knew... but because for some reason she felt embarrassed to admit it happened.
"When I got mugged a while ago. I was walking down an alley and a person came out of no where, trying to steal my pokemon. They didn't, thank god, but Roxas here leaped out and scared them silly, sent them running with only a few poke and a moonstone. I was found a while later my a trainer who frequently visits the library. Kyle. He teaches martial arts, so he's been helping a lot, teaching me to be stronger in myself.... I don't know if its working but, but I certainly hope it is." She said, running her free hand nervously through her reddy brown hair.

Alsia tumbled backwards as Roxas ran into her. She batted at his head with soft paws before running a little ways off in an enticement for a game of chase. She scrunched up her nose and stuck her tongue out in taunt.
Ever since Skylie had picked up the little female from the Adoption Center, Alsia had been a whirlwind. She was a handful and had to be monitored by someone at all times when she was out of her pokeball. She wasn't too bad when she helped out Skylie at the daycare but as soon as they got home it was a hit or miss on whether claws were going into furniture or something was being knocked off a shelf. Skylie was quick to add some precautions to the home but it was still a tricky challenge teaching the skitty out of her bad habits.
The blonde lass paused her previous musings as she watched Wren's demeanor do a sudden three-sixty at her question. It peaked her interest for sure but she wasn't about to pressure Wren into explaining or saying something she didn't want to share. The lass stayed quiet and simply listened.
Skylie cocked her head to the side at Wren's initial statement. From what she could tell Wren seemed to be doing well. She looked like she loved her job at the Library and had gotten a pokemon team that she adored. It was a lot different from their lives when they were kids, but Skylie thought that Wren had been doing quite well in this new environment. However things weren't quite as she had presumed they were.
Skylie's face fell when Wren's words finally registered in her mind. Her stomach twisted as Wren recounted how she actually found her skitty Roxas. How the little normal type had actually saved the brunette instead of simply being found. Skylie glanced over at the playing skittys and, while it was adorable to watch them play, Skylie couldn't bring herself to smile with what her dear friend was saying.
Somewhere during Wren's story, at a pause perhaps, Skylie slid Regulus off her back and sat up to give the brunette her full attention. The litleo was about to retaliate until he looked at his trainer's face. She wore a worried and pained expression that Regulus was not about to make worse. Instead, he simply curled himself up next to her thigh after she crossed her legs on the mattress. A low rumble sounded from him as he tried what he could to comfort away what worried his trainer. Skylie blinked a few times before she laid her hand over the small lion. She didn't expect to hear something like this at all. Especially from Wren of all people. She was always so upbeat and kind. It just...didn't fit. It sure as hell didn't sound fair in any way, shape, or form.
For a second, Skylie pictured herself in Wren's position. Sure she put on big airs around someone like Mars or the others but in a situation like that...Skylie felt she would've been cowardly. She could never play the part of the big hero in her mind. She could definitely dream about it but facing reality like that scared her to some degree, and she couldn't be sure she would be brave in that situation. She couldn't imagine what was going through Wren's head at the time.
Skylie lifted a hand and placed it on Wren's shoulder as the other trainer finished. "Arceus Wren," she muttered with another pang of concern in her gut. She scooted a bit closer to the brunette and gave her a half-hug of sorts. "I'm so sorry," she consoled.
"You're okay though? I mean obviously not but did you get hurt or anything?" she asked as she pulled away slightly. She wanted to make sure Wren was physically alright before questioning about this Kyle fellow whom she hadn't the pleasure to meet. She was glad that someone had been helping Wren out, and while she was a little hurt that Wren didn't tell her sooner about the ordeal she understood that it must've been hard; especially around friends you've known for a long time.

Wren smiled. After all, it was all in the past now right? She didn't want to have any of her friends worrying for her, especially since she was as fine as she could be. All things considered she knew she had been lucky. Roxas had been her saving grace and for that she was grateful but there was no point dwelling on what could have happened. Not when she had so many friends and family ready to support her.
"A few bruises, but they healed quickly. " She said, hoping the honest answer would help Skylie feel that she was ok, which she was. It had forced her to look long and hard at her life and make a few changes but that wasn't necessary a bad thing. I'm her mind it may even have been a good thing, she did love teaching now. It gave her a chance to share the knowledge she had picked up iver he years as a bookaholic.
"But you want to hear some crazy news?" She asked, ready for a brighter topic that she was sure Skylie would get a laugh out of.
"Guess who just showed up at my doorstop and is now sleeping on my couch?"

Mukobi didn’t know how she got here. The herbalist had initially gone out in search of fresh herbs, taking her shuppet, Marty, with her. Everything was fine until the multicolored haired girl decided to go deeper into the woods. Her naughty pokemon trailed behind, occasionally letting out short fits of laughter, to which Mukobi dismissed as her pokemon’s personality. As she made her way deeper and deeper, she stopped as she realized she hadn’t heard Marty give off his haunting laughs in awhile. Turning around to check if he was there, reddish yellow eyes widened in surprise at his disappearance. “Marty? Marty!”
Dropping any herbs she was carrying to that point, Mukobi looked around frantically, eyes narrowing as he heard a familiar laugh in the distance. The herbalist dashed towards the source, coming to a halt as she stopped right outside of a secret base entrance. Shaking her head, Mukobi turned around, cupping her pale hands to her lips before calling out for her shuppet, hoping not to alarm anyone or anything else nearby. “Marty? Marty, where are you? This isn’t very funny.”

(sorry its so late, life happened)
Wren had been in her secret base, when she heard a laughter at the far entrance that lead to the woods outside of Ivywood. She looked up, reminding herself yet again that she had every intention to close up that entrance, she really only needed the one that lead to the library. This other one was just asking for pokemon or people to come stumbling in. Still, her mind was quickly absorbed to her task when the tea kettle began to whistle, and she poured the hot water into her tea cup. However, again, she could swear she heard the sound of laughter, and this time she wasn't the only one. Immediately her three poochyena where at the mouth of the cave, barking.
She grabbed a lantern, because unlike the rest of her secret base the tunnel to the woods was not light up.
"Hello?" She called out, looking into the darkness.
"Is anyone there?"

Mukobi quickly silenced herself as she began to hear the sound of barking. 'How quaint...' She thought to herself sarcastically as she backed away from the entrance of the base, turning instead towards nearby trees for shelter. Mukobi continued to look around the area from her current standpoint behind a tree, failing at seeing any signs of her pokemon. Mukobi let out a frustrated sigh as she pulled up her coat and adjusted her slouching glasses, ready to head out again in a more extensive search, planning to go in the opposite direction of the barking. Just before she could set one footstep foward, the herbalist froze as she heard someone speak. At the question the voice produced, Mukobi, who had been hiding behind the large pine tree, took a peek around the bark to see a woman holding up a lantern, looking around for someone.
Stepping out from her hiding place, the herbalist walked foward, waving. "Oh, sorry to disturb you. I'm Mukobi, Mukobi Sinol. I'm merely looking for my shuppet, Marty. I lost track of him somewhere around here. Srry to be a bother if you heard me calling out for him." She apologized, an awkard smile on her pale face.
