Description Of course, there's also the less permanent tattoo. For this picture I needed a very simple pose as it was the lower arms that were most important. As the hands came out so well when I made the sketch, I decided not to use a fantasy character (which usually has a digit less per hand), but a human.

I looked up loads of henna tattoo designs on the internet, saw many beautiful ones. Though there are certain motives that keep popping up, the whole often looks like a pretty form of doodling, just filling up the space as nice as you can. Which I did, deciding not to mirror the arms so I could do more different types of doodles.

You do lovely humans. It's a relief to see the eyes more level for a change - I sometimes feel you overdo the elf eyes, too big or too slanted I'm not sure.
She's gorgeous though and she looks so incredibly relaxed.

The elves are what they are now. And though I do try to do new characters a little differently nowaydays (different shaped eyes, or non-slanting, but also in terms of body type), the main characters can't be changed anymore, they're too established, and it's those you see the most in my work.

But in my human characters I still have a lot of freedom and of course, making the eyes smaller helps a lot to make them less elf like. I'm not sure if I'd ever publish in some way the stories I have for my humans, but in an artistic point of view I should draw them more often (and it really has been too long, the comic just took over).

I think it's the level eyes that make her so relaxed btw

I loved the moment where I changed the black tattoos for the typical henna colour, making it look 'real'. It's then that I decided to stick with browns and reds (though she was a brunette in my head to start with).

Very nice and subtle! I like the matching background too.

I just took that doodle on her left hand, tweaked it in size and colour and then made a pattern of it in Photoshop. A nice little tool that
