Description This one I had originally drawn and coloured for a different background, but it just didn't work. So I chose this malachite instead, scanned from a small box I have.

What I love about the stone it's all shades of the same mint green that make up the pattern, from nearly white to nearly black. It did mean changing the colouring I had done previously. The jeans (already with the filter) and the braided part of the hair could stay the same while the skin I simply edited with a little colour balance.

The top part of the hair I had to redo. The armsleeves I redid and this time I added a filter to give it a more knitted structure. The shirt is basically the background which I selected and changed in colour with the aid of colourtone/saturation. I reckon it works really well, due to the randomness of the patterns. Might use it again for something else.

The tattoo might change a little in detail, when I decide to draw it again, but this is the gist of it. She actually has quite a few of them, dragon on the back, fish on the side/belly, different tattoos all along the left arm and leg. I'm gonna have my work cut out when decide to draw them all

I don't like the sleeves either - in this specific picture, not in general. This stone has a very busy pattern, and I think with all those textures and bright colors it becomes too much. I do like the repeat of it in the body in different color, but I think it should've stayed that way. But like you said you drew it for another first. No sleeves or in one color would've worked better.

I couldn't help it, tried it out; Make the top a langsleeved one, give the loose sleeves 1 colour, lose the sleeves all together. And you know what, nothing worked, it just didn't look right (boring to disconnected even). As busy as the original is, it just seems to work the best (imo anyway), go figure

Still gonna do a separate picture with stripey sleeves, scarf and hat though

At the same time, as busy as the sleeves are, I miss a matching scarf don't you?

If I would pull the 2 things apart, I would indeed take the Malachite picture and either give her bare arms with perhaps some bracelets to keep the green/pink/blue, or attaches the sleeves to the shirt and make in one piece (that way I don't have to make up the rest of the tattoo . And then I'd draw a new picture where it's about the sleeves (and scarf and perhaps a hat. Yes, I can see it now).

I may still do that. If something bugs me enough the perfectionist wins from the lazy bugger

Love the colours and textures. Not too sure about the sleeves though, but maybe that's me.
And malachite is simply gorgeous!

I like those type of sleeves, though I did have a different background in mind when I started drawing. I don't know what I would have given her for an outfit if I went for the malachite straight away now that I think about it. Not that it matters
