Description Probably my favorite character, got a real tough break in the show in my opinion.
Betrayed by the element of loyalty, that's gotta suck.

After reading the long debate below, I do have to agree with you that she did have a good reason for acting how she did if you are right. She could have been a nice person prior to the episode and after being split from Dash for so long, but even you have to admit that what she did when fluttershy bumped into her was mean and uncalled for.

Absolutely, she was totally out of line, and deserved some sort of punishment.
After my own history I know when someone acts badly it's because they have a problem, and that problem deserves attention. Gilda seems like a classic case of having a bad childhood and taking it out on people because she's learned that attacking people keeps you safe from them. What she needed was someone to talk to, not to be confronted by a bunch of strangers, especially when they were laughing at her.
I think of her like John Bender from "Breakfast Club"

Yeah, she did. Maybe they'll be an episode in season 3 about Gilda and her problems. I kinda hope there is.

They've done such a good job of making every other problem have a legitimate solution, it would be a shame if they broke that streak with Gilda.

What do you think "the great and powerful" Trixie's problem might be? It's defiantly attention related.

Well think about what her job is? She's a magician. If you've ever seen a real magician their entire JOB is pretending to be the best. I think somewhere along the way Trixie just got caught up in the act and forgot that she was supposed to be pretending.

Got a tough break? Seriously? Are you deluded or something?

You must be, if you think that chicken bitch "Got a tough break." She got exactly what she deserved, cause she was a bitch.

I think it's safe to assume that Gilda doesn't have any other friends or good relationships. with that being said,
What happens every other time one of the characters in this show is acting like a crazy bitch?
Twilight mind controlled a town, applejack caused massive property damage, rainbow dash is an annoying stuck up bitch all of the time, fluttershy was an even bigger bitch than Gilda in the Iron Will episode.
There is always a reason for them to act like that, a problem that they have. Rather than abandon them the rest of their friends realize something is wrong and try to help them.

So try again to justify Gilda losing childhood friend (who is supposed to embody loyalty because she has some behavior problems.
Also worth mentioning is that Gilda visits rainbow dash for ONE day, her friend that she hasn't seen in YEARS and Pinkie refuses to just give her some space.
She only lost her cool after a multitude of pranks, most of which were painful and embarrassing, were pulled on her. If I went to a part and the entire time there I was being laughed at and made a fool of I would have lost my cool too.

I will justify it. Those instances(Twlight's spell, Fluttershy's assertiveness issue, Applejack cause that damage) were accident. Gilda acted like a nasty bitch from the get go, hassling Pinkie, scaring Fluttershy, and insulting all of Dash's friends, and Dash. She made her bed, now she has to sleep in it. No tough break, just a massive bitch getting what she deserved. BTW, she pranked people too. She can't take it like she can dish it out, that's her problem. And like Dash said, those pranks weren't all meant for her.

But you're wrong. Fluttershy didn't insult her friend on accident, she did it on purpose, she only realized later that it was a bad thing to do.
Twilight mind controlled them on purpose, it got out of hand on accident but it doesn't change that she use a spell that tampers with someone's mind simply because she as scared of being late.

The point is that Gilda has some sort of problem that is causing her to act terrible, I say this because I can identify with it, as well as it being a rather constant theme of the show that when something bad happens there is a reason behind it, and the problem can be fixed.

What do you think would have happened if Dash was actually a loyal friend? What if she went after her and tried to ask what was wrong? Someone throwing a tantrum because they have some sort of problem they can't deal with on their own is no reason to abandon them.

At this point you simply don't have anything useful to offer to the conversation, you don't seem to understand basic behavior or psychology, nor the basic mechanics of how a friendship works. So reply if you like, but I've become bored with this line of discussion.

Yeah, she has a problem. She's a bitch. Fluttershy and Twilight admitted to what they did wrong, and apologized. Gilda just called Dash a "Flip-flop" if I remember correctly, insulted all her friends, and stormed off. If I had all my friends and myself insulted for a few harmless pranks, I wouldn't go after the bitch either.

She had a break down in a public place. when you're angry like that you can't think rationally, and you most certainly can't calm down, admit you're wrong and apologize while everyone is looking at you. look at her personality, it is obvious she has some sort of need to be cool that is most assuredly caused by a deeper problem.

Again, I say that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about from a psychological perspective.

Any further comments will do nothing but continue to paint you in a bad light.

Once again, the "problem" is, she's a bitch. Much as you deny it, some people are just born mean. Like Gilda. All of Dash's other friends got pranked that episode. Did they have a massive mental episode, insult everyone, and walk off? No. They laughed. If Gilda can't take a prank, that's her issue.

"Some people are just born mean."

This is incorrect, pure and simple.
I'm too bored to continue replying to what has become more of you spouting ignorance that is a discussion about the show.

Continue commenting if you like, if you really want the pointless and ignorant things you say to be enshrined on this picture that is.

If you become any more insulting I'll probably just get rid of them.
