Description A collection of all the fighter jets, I found on my hard drive. I rendered them under the same lighting conditions in Blender and put them together in front of the same background with just a little bit of post production in Photoshop. The 3D clouds are made by myself by using a cube filled with volume scatter material. For the distant background I used a photo. The fighter jets are based on free download models from:  tf3dm.com/ and  www.blendswap.com/, somewhat modified by me and partly re-textured...

...cierto a principios de los 90, estos aviones eran de última generación, con la excepción del Eurofigter, que llegó 10 años después. Gracias al traductor de google también entiendo español.

Lots of people are saying Ace Combat 7 and I'm thinking how most of those planes exist as modules in DCS World. They have high fidelity modules for the F-14B Tomcat, F/A-18C Hornet, F-16C Viper and lower quality modules for the F-15C Eagle and MiG-29. In the works are high fidelity modules for the Eurofighter Typhoon and F-15E Strike Eagle. (Though some are in early access and not finished.)

And when I say "high fidelity" I mean that they target a very specific lot/block of an airframe and a specific avionics set and program and set a specific year in the airframe's life that they simulate. Reading the real world flight manuals (when you can get them) greatly aides in playing the simulator better.

Of course DSC World is unbeatable in the point of realism and the DLC support will be further expanded in the future. For every real airplane in the game they first have to contact the aircraft companies, which have built these jets, for licensing. Then they will be supported and get all the intel they need. But for the most aviation fans it is certainly easier to play AC7 for now...

Clockwise from the bottom:

-F-14 Tomcat
-MiG-29 "Fulcrum"
-F-15 Eagle (not F-15E as conformal fuel tank does not seem to be attached)
-Eurofighter Typhoon
-F/A-18D Hornet (not Super Hornet due to different air intake shape)
-F-16 Fighting Falcon
-JAS-39 Gripen

Correct me if I am wrong with the list.

That's corrcet! ...and you have eagle eyes, because it's the D version of the F-18 Hornet and it's also a F-15 D, not yet a Strike Eagle.

Awesome. Like what badboy1817 says; this looks exactly like Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.

Manned aircraft rule, and these are some of my favorite fighters!

Ace Combat 7 is one of my favorite games. Nowadays the UE4 graphic looks so good and photo realstic, that you can even take a screenshot as a wallpaper. So yes this might be my inspiration and motivation...

A lot of people say that drones are the future of arial combat, well camouflaged and digitally networked. No pilot can be shot down, because he sits at a safe distance and controls his joystick. I looked it up in wikipedia and the MQ-99 based on the real EADS Barracuda drone, so it's not just an invention for a video game!

HaraSurya In reply to Sparmi [2020-04-21 14:42:25 +0000 UTC]

The big flaw in that thinking is the fact the datalinks are trivial to jam. Especially satellite based one where the signal strength is extremely low. Iran figured that out a while ago and routinely compromises drones overflying their territory.

The thinking now is to have a highly networked and stealthy manned fighter commanding a group of drones to act as "missile/bomb trucks." Namely, they're saying the F-35 because the F-22 doesn't (currently) support Link-16 in order to maintain stealth. Other Gen 4 and Gen 4.5 fights would be able to act as motherships as well, but without the benefit of stealth.

Sparmi In reply to bomsteinam [2020-04-22 06:28:41 +0000 UTC]

I didn't konw that yet, good info! I know that before the F-14 was available, they mainly used F-4 Phantoms on aircraft carriers. Not only in the NAVY, but also in the USAF.

bomsteinam In reply to Sparmi [2020-04-22 07:08:22 +0000 UTC]

That’s so true!

My aunt has a close friend who’s father was in the US Navy and he test flew the F-4 Phantoms until one day he was test flying a Phantom when something went wrong with the engines, causing it to crash and killed him.

Unfortunately that is very tragic. The job of a test pilot is certainly one of the most dangerous.
