White diamond ordered the creation of Corundum after the battle for earth, she kept her a secret until yellow diamonds bubbling. Corundum is a force fusion of a Ruby and Sapphire, both where grown to be identical and then forced to fuse. They cannot unfuse, Corundum knows she is a fusion but she doesnt care. Corundums one concern is pleasing her diamond. She wants to be strong and show the rest of the gems what a fusion can do. Even if that means destroying the crystal gems.
White diamond admired fusion, even if she found it revolting. So she created Corundum as a slap in the face to rose quarts. That Rose was not the only one who could fuse.

Corundum is calm all the time, she seems to have no emotions. She has a job, she gets it done. No crying, screaming, laughing. She is stone faced most of the time.
