SPARTAN-544, is a SPARTAN-III Commando of the UNSC Naval Special Warfare Command. Created and engineered by the Office of Naval Intelligence, the SPARTAN-III soldiers were to be the next generation of super soldiers.

At a young age he was one of the many survivors of the colony on the planet Kholos.
At 2538 he was conscripted to the S-III program during the ensuing war with the Covenant. As of July 18, 2542 - August 8, 2542 - he became active for duty and participated in one of many suicide missions - Operation: SUNSET - the mission was considered an overall success, all but three participants confirmed KIA.

His current equipment consists of the Mark V[B] MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor, a more streamlined version of classified war material developed by private corporations. Even during the late of the Human-Covenant War, 544 was never able to receive a more advanced version of the armor, the Mark VI. Though the armor system maybe considered obsolete, it is still capable of inflicting devastating damage to enemy forces.

To this day he has remained on active duty.
