Name: Mockingjay (Called Jaybird by her parents; prefers just Jay)

Tribe: RainWing/NightWing hybrid (Prefers the RainWing side of the rainforest, even when she lives on her own)

Parents: Queen Glory and "King" Deathbringer

Siblings: Gladius (Brother), Firefly (Young Sister)

Gender: Female

Age: 8 (Hatched 7 years after the Jade Mountain Academy was formed)

Appearance: Unlike her brother, Gladius, who looks mostly NightWing, Jay looks almost entirely RainWing. From far away, she looks like any normal RainWing at first glance. But, upon cloer inspection, you'll notice her snout is nearly identical to a NightWings. And yet, the biggest part that gives away that she's half NightWing are the pair of silver teardrop scales at the corners of her eyes, signalling her mind reading powers.

Jay can shift her scales to match her suroundings and emotions, just like a RainWing (but the silver scales by her eyes give her away). She's usually found mimicing birds with her scales. (She has even tried mimicing bird calls, which she uses to frighten Gladius to unimagineable levels, which explains why he hates birds). Whenever she's stressed, angry, or refuses to allow her scales to shift with her emotions, she's usually mimicing a white-tipped Stellar's Jay (the bird she was named after. It reminds her of when her life was once simple and happy). She also has the signature venom spitting fangs, and she can read minds. Her tail is also prehensile like a RainWings.

Personality: Ever since she hatched, Jay has been cautious of the world. She's always observing every inch of her surroundings, which is why it's not very often that she's caught off guard. It's also very difficult for her to trust any dragon after she was shoved out of a tree during flying practice by a NightWing dragonet when she was only two (she hasn't been very fond of NightWings after that expirience). It's even harder for her to make friends when every dragon in the rainforest knows about her mind reading powers, so she prefers to be alone... on the ground. Mockingjay has grown an irrational fear of falling after the tree incident, so she prefers to be on all fours whenever it's possible. (She's the dragon version of Spiderman XD) Jay is also severly jelous of everyone. Because she has never had a normal life, friends, family with her 24/7, or even a dragon to crush on or potentially fall in love with, she is really snappy around others. So, she prefers to be alone, even when she really WANTS to be around other dragons.

All in all, Jay prefers to be cut off from the world, reading and painting in blissful silence. Bother her, and she may use her trained assassin skills on you.
