Hehe, that's what happens to most artists. I have an 'ugly stage' to all of my paintings (when it's colored in without details) but to the rest of my family it looks finished!

Yeah, sometimes when the picture is in a state like that, it really takes effort to not just throw it out of the window... And when someone of my family just glances it and says "it looks fine to me" I´m not sure if that´s insulting. There´s no difference between an ugly unfinished picture and finished one? Argh. <__<

LOL, I know that all too well. I think it's the untrained eye that sees a finished art out of an unfinished one...then again, it's about opinion. Some artists only do 'unfinished work' so it's a bit confusing.
