What an amazing sunrise. It feels so untouched - just pure, natural beauty. 
I would love to see a scene like this, if only I could wake up early enough.

Thanks. It does take a little effort to drag yourself out of bed, but the experience (and every now & then the result) is well worth it. And you can go have a croissant and cup of tea/hot chocolate at a cafe for breakfast afterwards to reward yourself.

Ah, I didn't notice your age. Well, only a couple years to wait for that kind of independence, and until then that's what older siblings, photog buddies or parents are for (and you can even catch some z's while they're driving - double bonus!).

It was sunrise; 99% of the twilight shots I take are sunrise because I live on the east coast of Australia & like the seascapes (ie. shooting into the rising/setting sun). Also, a large part of shooting for me is not just the final image but the experience - the cool breeze, the smell of salt on the air, the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks, the feeling of isolation. I find sunrises so much more peaceful (I think people in general are much more willing to experience a sunset at 6pm, 7pm or 8pm than a sunrise at 5am or 6am) and the solitude is good for my soul I think.

I'm on east coast too. Well kind of, I live in lower Blue Mountains. I know what you mean about mornings on the beach or beside water. I've been staying on the Gold Coast for the last few weeks & was amazed by how many people are out & about from sunrise on. The beaches are like peak hour traffic!!!!!!!!
Hopefully when all the tourists go it will be better.

I did make an effort that morning, but sometimes on the way to work (I start early) I watch the sunrise over cloud-filled valleys and think "Oh man, I'd much rather be on that hill over there with my camera than on the train on the way to work".
