Description Well, *karakinee made the comment that she would have liked to see With a Flower in color, and the same sort of thing happened with a Christmas deviation of mine a few months ago, so I've decided to simply start posting all of my non-color deviations (especially portraits) in their original color schemes, but in scraps, and link them in the photo description. So now, if you ever run across a non-color deviation of mine that you want to see in color, all you have to do is find the link in the caption!

Hope you like it.

I definately pefer the colour version to sepia in this case... i dont know - it adds depth - sometimes its the reverse but as someone already said that yellow flower really captures your attention. The hair seems that much more detailed in this one somehow! thats random but hey!

I do too actually, now that I think about it. If I could have gotten the light levels right, I might have liked the sepia version better, but =kittynn is just far better at that than I am. Oh well, I'm too lazy to move them.

she is absolutely adorable!!!

THe one thing I like about this photo as opposed to the other a little more is that the bright yellow of the flower REALLy jumps out at you here, but doesn't do that so much on the sepia one. I've seen a couple techniques for that, but one of the most fun (although has to be used appropriately) is desaturating the whole image exept for the flower - it adds both a focal point for the eye, as well as a fun thing to include for technique sake. This reminds me a little of the song Dandelions by Five Iron Frenzy.

Thanks for the comments! It's so nice to see some real commenting every once in a while. I'll have to give you a few back when I find the time.

I'm Jess BTW.

My new friend, you are very welcome. I'm sorry that tonight I don't have time to go through more - (I also understand the agonies of being a student. **sigh**)

I can't wait to get to know you better though.

Hehe yeah, I know what you mean... I really should go to bed actually... but I'll check back when I can.

Can't wait to get to know you better too!! My last IB test is May 23rd, so I figure my brain will be working properly again by May 28th or so. Hopefully I'll be able to talk more then. For now, g'night!! ^_^

I really like this one in colour, and uncropped. It seems to take a little of the focus on her face out of it. Giving it a more happy-ish look. Which really brings out what seems to be the little girls happiness. The way you've got her eyes staring straight into the camera is very amazing.
And I'm not sure if you meant this, but the love-heart on her shoe gives it a very nice touch, as does 'love written on her shirt. It seems to have some sort of theme to it.

Congratulations on such a lovely truthful picture It's a for me!

Hehe thanks. I'm hoping to play around with the tones a little more in the sepia version, following *kittynn 's advice, but we'll see how that works out. Hopefully it'll help a bit.

And I didn't actually mean for her clothing to create a theme- she just happened to be wearing that. It was pretty lucky, I have to say. Thanks so much for the fave and sweet comment!
