Description
What is better than magic? True magic! In our real world, there is a magic called Quantum Mechanics. Not only exist in movie, it is real. It tells us with certain probability, electron can go across a wall (quantum tunneling); it tells us the possibility to move things from one place to another extremely fast (quantum teleportation); it tells us the existence of anti-particle (the famous Dirac equation). It's interesting features give rise to so many magic phenomena that one can only expect to see in movie, while it is definitely real! For this, I call it true magic.
In this drawing, one can find several important equations and formulas in the flying symbols (in Planck units). The tattoo on her arm is the symbol for Quantum things: the h-bar. The tattoo on her left hand is an annihilation operator, using to annihilate particles of the corresponding species. One may also find out something quantum in the background!
Hope that these explain why I draw her in this way
Media: Pencil and colored pencil. Digital editing was used to enhance the saturation, adjust the contrast and improve the background.

I love quantum and I love witches, so naturally I love this! I love it how you're portraying the equations and symbols as abracadabra, which they are to most people (looking at you, Schrödinger!).
Oh, and the rendering isn't too shabby either!

So nice to read these comments!!! That is exactly the feeling that I tried to depict for those equations XDDDDD Thank you!!!

This is a spectacular melding of science and art in a magical sense of true cosmic nature! Of the magimathmatical probabilities and possibilities of a future nearer than we think!
Brilliant concept beautiful representation

This one is really nice. Nice work on her body with the skin tones and shading. That and I really like the purples. Good luck in the contest

Omd. I come on DA for a break from studying quantum mechanics and then I see this.
I feel like I might snap if I have to write another time-independent, single electron Schrodinger equation.
Sorry about the rant.
It is a beautiful piece of art, especially the way you have done the back

XDD Thank you!! Yeah some math in QM are quite tedious, and sometimes the most famous form of Schrodinger Equation (i.e. in x-space) cannot tell us clear physics, so I always prefer to write them in Dirac notation (as you can see in this drawing, if you can find the Schrodinger equation XDD)

SO what is the difference between magic and true magic??! Nice shades!

Oh, here I said "true" magic because for me Quantum Mechanics is nothing but a magic, and better than existing in movie only, it is definitely real in our world XD Actually, those flying notations are some famous and important equations and formulas in Quantum Mechanics (and Quantum Field Theory). Moreover, the tattoo on her arm is the h-bar, a measure (or say a scale) of quantum phenomena. Hope that this answer your question
