The fourth daughter of a middling Architect family, Splendid has come much farther than any expected of her. In her younger days, some would say she merely slept her way up, riding the coattails of her betters. It's much less prudent to say those things now.

In her younger years, she managed to catch the eye of one Samovey Sinew, a promising young surgeon in the Medics company, ambitious enough to rise to the top but not the most politically minded- a very polite way of saying 'naive'. Not one to turn opportunity away at the door, Splendid was quick to cast aside her old company in favor of the Medics, marrying much higher than she had any right to (At least, that's what the in-laws said.). From there, Splendid had only one goal- the exaltation of her new family.

Her husband rose through the ranks in combination of his own genuine skills, and his wife's political maneuvering- where charm failed, a few well-placed rumors, some circumstantial evidence- the high-minded medics really weren't so different than any other company. Enough blood in the water and they'd eat each other alive, leaving the path clear for Samovey. He may not have made captain- but soon enough the rest of the family began to use him as their namesake, although he continued to carry the name of his now deceased grandfather "Out of respect."

Her children's lives were meticulously arranged- Her daughter showed all the promise and drive her father had, only needing a bit of guidance and direction to go exactly where Splendid wanted- by the time she was in her teenage years, the expectation to take over as the next family Namesake was practically a given. Her son, well- his marriage would be a fine bargaining chip, if nothing else. She arranged their marriages herself, both enviable matches to say the least. Over thirty years of scheming were about to bear fruit.

And then her daughter went and got herself discredited. Back to the drawing board.
