Description
Bonus: Another thing to keep in mind is to keep changes practical and think about why it would have it to begin with? For example Norel has two orbs on her back. These were not placed there without reasoning. Norel has these orbs on account of that she once lived deep under water, past the point where very little light reached. Norel had to use special means for aided sight in order to find food. These orbs are actually modeled of real features found on fish that live on our world in places similar to where Norel grew up!Hello everyone! A while ago I put up a Tutorial of sorts on tumblr about how I got about designing a pmd characters appearance once I have their back story In mind. I've decided to put it here on Da in case it can help someone out and to put a little something up here since it's been awhile since I've been truly active. Again this is just my approach but if you've liked my designs, this is how I go about it!

LUV THIS GUIDE!
In all seriousness though, I feel that this guide was very well explained in detail, and I'll definitely recommend this to others in the future

Good decision to finally bring it over here, I really like this tutorial since you haven't bothered to shorten it for eventually viewers that just want to quickly read through everything (and then say they know how to do the described process now).
What tends to happen when you shorten to optimize it, and I see that quite a lot unfortunately, is that the whole thing gets "dumbed" down, so there really isn't anything left to learn in my opinion. It's sorta like learning vocabulary and not knowing how to implement or use them in sentences. So yeah, good you explain everything here, I really like this sort of process-DESCRIBING (and not just "do this, do that. Add magical layer on special setting. You're a good artist now" hehe) tutorials 8D

ahah yeah I get you completely! I like tutorials as much as the last guy, but when it comes to me personally, I'm usually interested in the ones that take the time to describe the process and give examples on how it can be done by anyone. I tried to stay true to that with this small one I made way back when and it never crossed my mind to shorten it XD

Yeah looks like it's a better deal for everyone. I know it can be hard to keep track of likes and the sorts when it comes to resources on tumblr. Thank you I'm glad to hear you think so!

Hoooly crap, this was a very good read. I'm actually surprised, since this was a lot of stuff I kept in mind when I first designed my characters (at least Calorin.. Marek is a little simplistic, but he is still a bit underdeveloped due to age, and will be developed a bit more over time).
Very well done, Srar~ And it's good to see you again c: Hope college has been going good for you.

Ah yes College~ It's been going really well, the only deal is it's really work intensive! I'm actually just about done with the quarter. In about 2 weeks my winter break starts! You can be sure that's when I'll finish your commission off ;u; I get my free time back!
