Music is really a gray area.. unless the lyrics specifically puts God down. And also it is according to our faith as mentioned in Romans 14. In fact I actually did a full study review of the Book of Romans from Chapter 1 to 16. True... most churches warn Christians not to listen to metal music, because it's satanic... but in my opinion, music is art, and art is an impression.. to express feelings and thoughts into lyrics to people...
Metal can be good music to listen to, if their lyrics are not secular or non-violence...

The thing is that, it becomes a problem when the metal music becomes our source of comfort instead of God. Example when one feels anger, some seek God for comfort and others fuel the anger with more metal music.. if you get what I mean..

Ahh.. true that. Yes, I understand that. Totally understand that, my friend. Hatred and anger are like fuels when it comes metal music. I'm sure lots of my Christian friends here, felt the same way.. well, truth to be known, I think I'm the only guy among them that loves to listen to metal, and post some metal songs in Facebook [but of course I remember God]
Also, I ever cursed out Lord's name in vain accidently when I got angry or mad or upset about something... I really feel guilty, I know how hard life can be, only the Lord can help, show His Way and His Truth..
But I will repent anytime, it is not too late to repent; as long as I live, I try to spread love to friends and strangers, and make good deeds for people in community, not for myself, but for Holy Name Himself..
