Description Another product I don't really like, but with a mascot I like very much! These are my two favorite forms of KC, the spokes-penguin for the easy-make Kid Cuisine meals.

Never tried the stuff myself. All I know is that when it comes to the newer commercials, I try to mute them (I hate how that one penguin says "PEACHES!!!!!!")

Again, well done on the pic. I like the inclusion of some cel shading here and there. I've always felt it touches up an image quite well (with that said, i don't know why I stopped doing that recently... I need to get back into it.)

I ignore the newer commercials outright--they're just not nearly as interesting as the ones inspired by KC. (You can probably find them on YouTube, if you'd care to examine the difference. ;D )

Yep, sometimes shadings are a pain, but it's always worthwhile to do, so I'll likely do it more often myself--particularly in character deals like this one.

I don't blame you, honestly. While it may not be the exact same situation, it's sorta how I feel about the newer Chip the Wolf commercials (Or maybe that's just because I prefer the clothed Chip, as opposed to this poor man's Wile E. Coyote they're using now).

(Then again, I don't believe there are any more Chip Wolf commercials...)

When it comes to cel shading, I think the reason why I may or may not use it is because sometimes, it just doesn't always suit the character I'm drawing. Then again, if I feel a picture is too boring, I'll probably include it to spruce things up a bit (like I did with my Didgeri Dingo pic). I guess I just try to use it whenever I feel it is necessary or when it can look its best. Thankfully, it's not too difficult to apply in photoshop, just time-consuming.

It seems Chip gets about as much good representation as any cartoon wolf would. In related news, I discovered something at Target that might wean you off of the new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" show. I was looking over the inevitable line of toys when I noticed one of Shredder's probably endless army of mutants (another thing about the classic show that I hated). It looks like Shredder's general is a mutant dog named "Boneyard". Guess what he looks like?

Yup, cel shading is similar to CGI in that it's a useful tool --so long as it's perceived as a tool. My brother and I spoke again recently about how outrageously worshiped CGI is as the panacea for special effects and animation. I'm sure I don't have to relate the results to you. Certain works really are best represented certain ways.

Oh, trust me, it's not going to take a whole lot to steer me away from the new TMNT show. I'm trying really hard to stick with the show till the end, but last weeks episode nearly drove me up a wall (I'd list my reasons why, but we'd be here all day... I'll just say it sorta started with "Turtles on skateboards with MP3 players" and it all went downhill from there...).

Still, if there's going to be a wolf-like character, I might actually stick around long enough to see what he'll look like. I expect the character to be terrible in every possible way... but it at least gives me something to look forward to now.

Actually, Way before KC there was both a penguin AND Polar Bear mascot. The Penguin was named BJ and the Polar Bear was just called "The Chef".

I actually do recall them...they just seemed unspectacular. I recall "The Chef" as having this "Boyardee", grandfatherly type of personality...

Gasp! You really know how to follow somebody.

Thanks! KC has inspired a few of my OCs as well. Since ConAgra is replacing both these designs with generic, cute-looking penguins, I was motivated to do this around this time.

Am I really the first to draw him??
