Well I'm back with more Demon Slayer start-up material. Here is Danny Williams, the younger brother of Megan Williams, previously submitted.This of course is my design for both the “younger” and “older” versions of Danny that will be appearing in the comic series I have planned, based on this wonderful fanfiction. www.fimfiction.net/story/71660…
It has taken me way too long to get around to finishing these, but I am expecting the ability to better organize my time now that we are in the new year.
The fic's author particularly loves the angle of depicting Danny as having a very close relationship with Surprise, the famous G1 pony who of course inspired Pinkie Pie. What I settled on was a bit subdued; just the two of them hanging out and staring at the clouds. I hope it suffices to get the feeling across. And naturally, in the fic set in the future, Danny finds a lot of what he liked about Surprise manifested in Pinkie Pie.
I referenced an actual stature and weight percentile growth chart, to ensure that my choices for height and weight for both younger and older versions of Danny were realistic, and what could be considered healthy. sta.sh/0153am30wfx6

Well obviously we can only speculate as to whether a fictional character would accept the label of "brony", and there can be no definitive right answer.
I suppose if Danny was overly concerned about the "stigma" of being a brony, and did not feel secure enough in himself, he might reject the label. It depends on whether you see him as that insecure, or if you see him as confident enough to wear his "brony" status with pride.
Regardless of whether he "calls himself" a brony, he IS one. He has all the necessary attributes, as far as I'm concerned.

It's not because of the stigma, or being confident to use the term. It's a term after all made up after he had been with the ponies and by going with the origins of that word, he didn't start into the "FiM fandom" he was already a part of MLP 'world'
It's like the original people, or guess the guys in this case, liking MLP before FiM was out, all of them didn't rush to use the new word because they already were confident in being a fan of MLP or a collector. He would probably just use the word Friend and be confident that it was all he needed.
That's my take on it.

I like to keep it simple.
Brony = Fan of MLP (boy/girl, young/old)
If you think being a fan (or a friend) of ponies before it was "a thing" somehow excludes him from the above basic definition of a brony, to each her own.
But to me, such reasoning is needlessly complicated.

I always preferred her original outfit from "Escape from Nightmare Castle" Jeans, riding boots, vest, etc. What horse crazy girl wears a pink blouse, turquoise jumper and pink flats to a horse barn? Your adaptation of her tv series outfit is cute, and her older outfit reminds me of that (mostly forgotten) original outfit.

I have some imagery that I am not sure is subtle or not (or perhaps it would send the wrong message). I would say that Danny would be an Oklahoma State fan because he lives in Oklahoma and there is a lack of professional sports teams in that state (this story takes place in 1992, the Thunder would not move from Seattle for almost 20 years afterwards). The obvious allusion is that team is called the Cowboys.
Unfortunately for Danny, Oklahoma State went 3-7-1 that year (including 2-4-1 in the Big 8, which would dissolve after 1996).

Ouch, i actully felt a stab in me heart! Reading about how Danny returned to Equestria and learned that all his friends, especially Surprise was long gone, man talk about heart wrenching.
This would make a exellent fanfic now that i Think about it, Danny returning to Equestria and have to deal with the knowledge that all his friends have since long passed away, and what his thoughts, feelings and actions would be.

Well, Danny and Surprised are certainly shipped within the fic that this is referencing, and even the original show drops some hints, if you want to read into them.
And yes, shipping happens all over the place, both within and without the brony fandom.

Danny, he was a bit of a dunderhead, but his heart with in the right place most of the time.
And it is a riot to see a 16 year old boy wearing "Bowser" bracelets and riding a pink pony.

It was my favorite Chapter of that fanfiction, cos I find it interesting. Feel bad for Danny for losing Surprice, when Rainbow Bridge closed. Can't wait for Comic version of that Chapter.
