Here's something a bit different. I had some photos and screenshots of my sketch and vector of The voice of a kirin lying around, so I figured I'd put them together into a sort of "step by step" process of how I make my vectors.First I make a sketch of what I want make, then I trace it into a vector with Inkscape.

This is really interesting to me. Your process is very similar to mine (i.e. sketch on paper, then vector), but I think I over-complicate the vectoring stage and that's why my results always fall short of my expectations. It would also help if my sketches looked as nice as yours but I'm not that good yet lol. I've known my methodology has been and continues to be flawed, but I find it enlightening to look at your process, so thanks for sharing this.
