My entry for 's My Little Pony NextGen contest. Because ponies are my secret shame and my guilty pleasure.

Name: Damselfly
Parents: Spike x King Thorax
Gender: Female
Species: Dragon x Changeling

Personality:

- Damselfly is strongly idealistic and optimistic, with a deep-seated sense of justice - she views life like a fairy-tale, where goodness is always rewarded, and evil never prevails. On the plus side, this helps her to see the best in people, stay hopeful in difficult times, and always fight for the best possible outcome. On the negative side, it can lead to an unwillingness to compromise and see other, more cynical points of view, and leave her vulnerable to being manipulated by people who genuinely aren't as good-hearted as she thinks they are.

- Damselfly is a ridiculously old-fashioned romantic at heart - being part changeling and literally living off love can do that to a person. True to her name, she'll sometimes pull a helpless "damsel in distress" act to try and catch someones eye. Acts like pretending something she's carrying is suddenly too heavy, and that she needs a big, strong pony to help her with it...despite her being a huge dragon-bug that towers over most ponies. It's a work-in-progress.

- Has a hoard of trashy romance-novels and cheesy fantasy-epics in her room.

-Overall, it's probably a good thing she's so ditzy and optimistic - between what happens to a changeling when they get too greedy for love, and what happens to a dragon when they get too greedy for things, she's got the potential to turn into a literal and figurative monster if she ever goes off the rails.
