Nice composition. It seems like it could be used in an advertisement or some other commercial use. Good Job.

A very original photo. And a very funny one too. Isn't it typical that something happens' (engine stop working etc..) when you've planned something? That's something I see in this picture..

It has those distorted parts like it was saved on paint as a bitmap, but it's very thought-provoking. View is from an inconspicuous place, behind the grass, so it brings a mysterious notion, like someone is watching them.

i love this photo, how there is nothing around them, no signs, no lights, no buildings.... nothing! really is like their lost in the middle of nowhere!

Another great shot Like the way youve kinda divided the shot up into three what with the goldy/brown plant thingies in the foregound the green grass in the middle and the clear blue sky at the top. Like how youve got a couple of those branches sticking up in the shot as well, kinda like piercing the sky, Cool gallery Keep up the good work

I love the idea, very efficient, and the contrasts in this pict. But why croopping it in this way ? With a 3/2 format, with a larger place to the sky, the impression of being lost will be really better. But great pict, with a good eye of the photographer. Just the composition that could deserve more this good idea.

PS : sorry for my english lol

wow this picture is really good, it was well worth the effort waling back and taking it low for the composition, it looks really idyllic, and although you are so far away the picture lets you imagine the conversations and the moods of the situation, a great capture!!!

you've got a nice balance between the dead wheat stalk things in the foreground, the grass beyond it, the road and the sky. Really cool how everything's so clean and clear in the image, and not much clutter - everything's straight and horizontal.

Nice concept. Placing the viewer at a distance, in the plain of the earth usually creates an interesting feel to an image. I love your implementation of that in this piece, both to achieve the wide angle shot, and to allow for the grass to come in view. Nice work!

somehow this gives me a weird feeling......as if i AM in some story as soon as i look at this or so..hmm dunno...
mayb i'm jus a little out of it today..!

stumbleine179 [2005-07-20 22:51:38 +0000 UTC]

I really like the simplicity of the composition. It allows the viewer to see the entire story at once. A good photograph tells a story, and I'd say you've accomplished that quite effectively here. Also, by splitting the frame with the horizon line, you've provided a great example of an instance where it worked to your advantage to break the rule of thirds. Great job in the execution of this photo... My only caution would be about the quality of the digital file. It's good to make sure you are saving the .jpg at full quality to avoid pixelation around sharp lines (i.e. the horizon in this example).

that's really cool- did you just wander away from them and take the shot?
i like the red car and how it has all the luggage and stuff on top. gives it a 'movie' feel. and a adventurous humor to it.

Very nice.. I like the perpendicular angle to the family. Great balance to the photo overall.. some of the reeds look a little oversharp, but that's my only complaint. Nice work!

Yeah maybe the reed gets in the way a bit but it's acceptable. Otherwise it's a great image, has the feeling of a lot of road movies.. really suggests the coming journey. Nice.

its cool how theres four people but 2 of them are together but so are the other two, it's like the two pairs running away with the car. the car draws the attention and it looks like the hood is going to devour whoever is fixing it. haha like chomp off his head or soemthing. it really leaves the mind to make up a story about the characters. very cool

Ha! Awsome.

The only thought I have on this one: there isn't much to look at, but this could easily be fixed. This picture could easily tell a whole story, with characters and all. There are four people in the photo. Keep the guy that's checking under the hood. Two of the people could be sitting on the ground right where they're standing, maybe playing cards or something. And have the fourth person just sitting on the trunk looking out at the road behind them. This would give the image character and also two directions, the road ahead, and the road behind.

Maybe? Eh, eh? Okay.

Only problem with this approach is the car is long sold the road has long been traveled.
And to edit all that in might make it look sorta hacked together.

I defiantly see where your coming from though. Thanks for the input

This is great. I love how the red car instantly draws your eye right to the concept of the photo. Usually I like dramatic skys in photos but I really think this photo works better with a clean sky. The long stalk helps balance out the car in my opinion. The only thing that bugs me is the lack of focus on the people. It looks like you oversharpened 'em.

hm.. im not sure what to think of this, even though i get the concept and all.
i like the sky it looks great in this shot, but the twiggy grass things in some parts of the picture are a bit of an annoyance.
this is taken really well though, it's not blurry or anything. what kind of camera, do you have?

my brother for some reason thinks you guys are stuffing a dead body in the car?

This was back when I had an old Sony Mavica 1.4 MP camera suprisingly.

Then I went and bought a camera instead of a car, and got the Sony Cybershot 8.1 MP 14x Zoom
I love my Camera.
Ha and if we were stuffing a body in the car I dont think he would fit in the engine
