What is it with me and getting characters whose names start with the letter "A"?This is *azadein 's character by the same name, an oriental dragon... and you all know how much I love drawing oriental dragons
This was soooo much fun to draw, but I'm a little disappointed... there's so much more I could have done with the shading (the description said he's supposed to be all iridescent and stuff), but deadlines are deadlines and everything. I hope my person thinks it came out okay ;_;Long dragon is looooooooong

Heh, I actually reopened the old .psd file earlier today to figure out how I did it, with the different layer types and stuff... super shiny things are cool. I'll have to see what a year of practice with lighting plus the same photoshop techniques will do in my upcoming work... when it's appropriate, that is.

Well, the word "imperial" always has to do with royalty in an empire. I suppose it's possible to get the terms mixed up since there were lots of stipulations in Dynastic China about how commoners could depict dragons vs. how royalty could depict them. So there could be lots of dragon characters that are both imperial and oriental. Still, they're not the same thing.
I don't know much about Azadein's background, so I don't know if he's an imperial dragon or not.

Whoa, awesome! I personally think the shading is wonderful. I really like the head and the perspective somehow comes out to me as very nice. Amazing work!
