Then you've been fighting for an illusory truth. The US armed forces defend imperalist, self-centred interests, not freedom. And that's not so bad in itself- superpowers tend to push people around. But when you pretend those wars of aggression are somehow defendingΒ something, defending an imagined threat to freedom? That's hypocritical at best.
