'We've been going about this all wrong. This Mr. Stay Puft's okay! He's a sailor, he's in New York; we get this guy laid, we won't have any trouble!'Without doubt, my favourite character, from my favourite movie, played by my favourite actor, ever!
I've been wanting to draw a new Ghostbusters pic for ages, particularly one of Peter Venkman.
And with all the talk of a new Ghostbusters movie, i thought why not do it more as he would look now.
I struggled a bit getting Murray's likeness but all in all i've had the most fun doing this pic, learned a fair few things along the way.
Painted in Photoshop, using Wacom Bamboo.

Holy friggin' cow, man! Can I have permission to use this in my Ghostbusters project? It's not anythin' that's going to be published on the net, it's actually gonna be a roleplaying session (think Dungeons & Dragons) between friends.

Thanks man, yeah i went for the Steve Zissou look, would want him to still be his quirky self but like you said, maybes the past few years have been hard on him :/
I hope the original group play a vital role in the new movie, i'd much rather see them older, struggling to save the day as apposed to an entirely new group, Harrison Ford did a great job as an older Indy.

Yeah. They had BETTER play a big role in the next movie. I'm actually optimistic about this one. They have some other really cool people working on it too.

Ahh man, ever since there's been talk of a sequal, i've been dead against the idea of a 'new group' taking over, i've always said i'd rather they just left it alone.
But then when i heard the rumours that Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen and people were invovled, i started opening up to the idea and realized if they handled it right, got the right people and had the original group playing vital roles in it, they could really be on to something special!
I just think there's a lot of comedy potential in seeing an older, more run down Murray and co donning the overalls and trying to save the day again, fingers crossed ey :]
