I did one of these collages on George Reeves' Superman comparing the classic '50s Superman comics art by Wayne Boring and Curt Swan to George Reeves' Superman georgereevessuperman.deviantar… so I decided it would be interesting to do one for Christopher Reeve's Superman, too, and compare classic Superman comics art to the classic Christopher Reeve Superman Arnaldo Putzu Look-in magazine cover art from the '70s. This is a collage I made of 1960s Neal Adams Superman art and 1970s Arnaldo Putzu Look-in magazine #4 (January 1979) cover art of Christopher Reeve's Superman, I digitally refined it to make it look more accurate to Christopher Reeve's Superman and recolored the red cape, and showing that Christopher Reeve's Superman was based on the classic '60s Superman comic book art from the covers of Action Comics #369 (1968) to Action Comics #392 (1970) art by Neal Adams, and I digitally refined it, restored it, and cleaned it up, and colored it.Christopher Reeve's Superman was very much the Mort Weisinger Silver Age 1960s era comics Superman with the omnipotent power level and the emphasis on Krypton, Jor-El, the Fortress of Solitude, and seeing himself as Kal-El, instead of as Clark or Superman, even having a cousin Supergirl. Although even Neal Adams' Superman art had over-the-top muscles, Christopher Reeve's Superman particularly resembled the Neal Adams Superman art from the comic books with the long head shape, youthful look, etc. just put into Christopher Reeve's real anatomical proportions. Christopher Reeve's Superman literally even have the styled curl hair as Superman [which was actually a wig].
