Description I wouldn't recommend zooming in too much on this one. GranNezumon got pretty weird-looking, and I couldn't figure out how to fix him.
Commission for TwinleafSceptile , who was very generous and patient while i was struggling this summer! I would gladly do a commission for him again.

In case you can't see, the Digimon in order are:
Tessomon ➝ Nezumon ➝ Pipmon ➝ Asaemon ➝ GranNezumon ➝ Sodokumon

Asaemon is my favorite, personally. And yes, Pipmon IS a recolored Chuumon in a Robin Hood outfit.
Sodokumon can summon gross little Champion-class Digimon called BileBakemon, see them here: sta.sh/019qpoot8uz3

What are the strange symbols below the digimon for and mean?

I think you're talking about Digicode! It's the Digimon phonetic alphabet; it works the same way as the Japanese language, so you pretty much sound out whatever you're trying to spell. For example, the code under Pipmon reads "Pippumon," and under GranNezumon it says "Gurannezumon," etc. If you google search it, you can find charts and stuff, it's really cool!

You're welcome! I'm slowly working on my own Digimon creation right now. I've created a few designs of each level so I can choose which ones I like best. Also can you give me a tip or two when designing Digimon?

oh man i am NOT the best person to ask. I still struggle with it and I have to ask all sorts of questions.
but two main things I will say:
1. You do not (and in many cases, SHOULD not) have to follow the traditional order - by that, I mean small creature Rookie -> bigger creature Champion -> semihuman or modified bigger creature Ultimate -> humanoid Mega. Be creative - maybe you want the line, instead of getting smaller and more human, you want it to end with it being a massive monstrous creature. Not like a MetalGarurumon, but more like Machinedramon in a way. I see so many fan Digimon creators that just...they use the same formula over and over and it gets so boring. Don't be restricted to it. Heck, the Champion could be the most human one! Have no humanlike Digimon at all! It's all up to you! Let your mind go wild! That being said, if it DOES work for you, don't feel any shame in doing a line that follows the formula, but I wouldn't make ALL your lines follow it, or you lose a lot of valuable variation.
2. Themes are the hardest part. My personal Digimon have ranged wildly in theme - they can be as simple as a raccoon that does physical attacks, or as complex as a fire-manipulating cat that changes card suit and battle style as it changes level. You're allowed to do whatever you want. Experiment. Figure out what works for each individual design - just because it works for someone else's doesn't mean it'll work for yours. But you may think of something completely original that wouldn't have worked with theirs. So think of everything you like, every favorite animal or creature or myths you adore or what have you. However, it's important not to draw from more than about three things, or otherwise your design will get bogged down.
For example, my personal Partner Digimon is named Salemon. He is a bat with dark magic powers that are themed after Halloween (and he is colored black and orange). As he levels up, he becomes steadily more undead. All my themes connect because they are associated with each other (bats and undead relate to Halloween and dark magic, and they all fall under the "occult" category), and so the overlap seems natural.
If you like, here is the link to my Sta.sh Digimon sketches, the designs I've mentioned and am working on right now (though the raccoon isn't posted yet) - sta.sh/21vcktz54shj?edit=1

Thanks for that! So far I have it as a puffball wolf-like creature, a dogish-wolf with a scarf, a larger winged wolf with a ring on an ear and scars, then a wolf with armor, and then well nothing yet.

Wolves are a little hard to do more creatively, simply because SO MANY people make them. I used to have a Husky Digimon but I gave up after I realized there was just too much I couldn't avoid overlapping with other peoples' designs. I'm REALLY touchy about originality in my own designs so it just became a bother for me more than anything.

You're right about that. I love wolves though and that's the main reason why I created one. I plan to do more though and they're going to be for a fanfic I'll do in a year or two.

You can keep designing your stuff. I just love looking at your Digimon art.
I was really nervous the whole day, in and out of the nurse, (I came from a small private school into a big public high school), and finally when I was in a calm state I got sick in class. ; - ;  So now I'm home early.

Oh no! My first day of 7th or 8th grade was like that (it was so long ago, I don't remember) and I had to stay home for two days after getting sent home early the first. I had a fever and could barely eat.
How big is your high school? I imagine it'd be easy to get nervous.

Ahh that's sad.  The school's pretty darn big. XD I think there's around 350 in my grade.
But people seemed to be nice about it in that small instance.  The first time I thought I was going to get sick I went back to class and some person that I have never met asked if I was okay.  When I got sick I quickly apologized to the person next to me before I sped to the nurse, and she said it was okay.

That's how big my middle school was my high school had 900 people per grade, approximately. It was...whew. It was as big as some colleges.
I'm so sorry to hear that, but I'm glad that people showed concern. That's always a good start.

Yeah.  The guidance counselor's gonna see my often (I forgot if I said that already) to get me used to everything.  Fingers crossed that it all goes well tomorrow.

Fingers crossed on my end too. High school is fun, and I still miss aspects of it desperately. My best friends are all far away from me now, and after many trials and errors my boyfriend determined he and I couldn't handle a long-distance relationship. My family is three hours north of me and I have a very limited support group here. But I wouldn't trade the independence of college for the world. But in order to appropriately transition, you need to have a good experience in college, and everyone deserves that. I hope things get better for you, and I recommend joining one or two clubs (too many and you may find yourself overwhelmed) and studying hard. You'll do just fine.

Katwolfie In reply to stereograves [2014-09-03 23:12:03 +0000 UTC]

Ah, that's tough.  My siblings are all really close to home at college--must be terrible to be far away from your family.  Do you have Skype?  My sister's best friend is a few hours away from her college, but she really just texts and snapchats all the time with her, and they meet all they can when they have break.  Have you gotten used to the town and area around there?  When my brother went to a different college a plane ride away, he took to visiting the area and going to local restaurants and all that jazz.

The counselor recommended Art Club for me, and I'm gonna get on that boat as soon as it's ready. XD  I'm also going to try and be in a community service club--since I need a bunch of hours in.  I just can't wait to visit my old school and see my old class (we were a tiny class [one class per grade, less than 20 in ours] and we were close] and hug all dem peeps.  Even though I didn't really have any friends. XD

I do have skype but for now the computers at my family's house are too slow to really handle it well/don't have cameras. I chat with my best friend all the time and I'm going to her dad's wedding later this month, but quite a few of my friends I have slowly fallen out of contact with. I wish it was not the case.
Art clubs are always great. And I'm glad you're getting community service hours - is it for a special diploma? And when I moved from southern Indiana to northern Indiana, I was in much the same situation - I had only one friend in the whole town but I still missed everyone I knew. I don't now, though. I haven't talked to them in years, and they've long forgotten about me. I moved after fifth grade, after all. Not much of me to remember. I kind of prefer it that way.

Katwolfie In reply to stereograves [2014-09-04 18:38:24 +0000 UTC]

That's unfortunate.  But it's nice that you at least can stay in touch with your best friend.
We are required to do ten hours throughout the year, I think.  But I of course would do it otherwise.  I got through a full day today, and it felt so good!  I woke up early and chilled out for an hour, and went to school feeling good.  Now that I got through today I feel confident that I won't mess up again. XD  Gym was scary because there aren't many other freshmen--and I'm the only freshmen in study hall, too.
But I'm just going to be concerned about getting in work on time and studying hard.  And drawing art whenever I have free time.

Hey thanks! I really tried to get the balance right from a stylistic standpoint - when we discussed the commission, he was talking about a dark ages/medieval type theme focusing on executioners and stuff so i looked at a lot of fantasy art for inspiration c:

I think you managed to do the balance just right, IMO they could pass for either fantasy RPG characters or digimon.

Hhhhhopefully I can finish the last of the adult levels soon. He's really been difficult to design since I feel like he needs some additions - he's supposed to be undead or a ghost or something but I'm having trouble making him look right.

Yes, I have - revenants, spectral things, full zombie with gory bone/organ detail, and everything in between. I think the one thing I'm sure I liked was when his arms and legs were bones and bound at the joints by cloth, but at the same time, I'm not sure it would look halloween-y enough.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gomis In reply to stereograves [2014-09-05 05:43:11 +0000 UTC]

Bone legs sounds pretty halloween-y to me at least! I can't really say much else without seeing your skethces or anything, but regarding any character design, you should go with the design YOU like best, instead of thinking if it's something enough, because it's your own design for you. Of course it's for someone else you have to try to find something they like, but if it's for you, it needs to please you and nobody else.

stereograves In reply to Gomis [2014-09-05 13:11:49 +0000 UTC]

That is true. I just feel like I'd like it better if his design was a little more...balanced, I guess? But I think I'm getting there.

Aaaaaaaah, these all look pretty awesome! 8D I really like them, nice, balanced designs! .w. I especially like Ariomon and Salemon's evolines!
I could note though that Sysirauta also has a digimon called Foldmon, if you're into your fandigimon not sharing names with other people's fandigimon you might want to know that, but I know some people don't mind it.
