This will be explored in later chapters. A lot of stuff happened at that party that the reader is not yet privy to. There was a reference to it in the Valentine's Day Comic but sadly that got pulled down by DevArt.

Plus, and I imagine you suffer from this as well, I have an easier time thinking up little bonus comics and jokes and things when I should be focusing on the main story. I was aiming to make a graphic novel, but it seems to want to be a comic strip. You ever have that problem?

Oh yeah! I have mountains of funny little scenes and one-off comic stories, just waiting to be drawn.
For some reason they are so much more fun then a comic (with plot and and character developments).
You just have to make a bit of time for both, I guess!
