You can't get splinters, Jace. They become grafted into you.
You know what's funny? Your sketch makes them look closer to how Deku Scrubs look in-game. (Well, Ocarina of Time, Nintendo 64 version.)

I always get a little ... dunno when using someone else's characters. I hope that the scene is at least "in character" for them. 
I figured, "Oh, why not."
Anyway. I figured I'd toss this at you because a deku is a plant or wood ... and we get splinters from wood ... just the notion of wood having a splinter, I thought would make for a good ironic joke.
