Description *Update: Unfortunately with doing things quick you make mistakes. I have fixed it now, the middle point is not the same as the trochanter line. If you don't know what I'm referring to please read my original front view anatomy tutorial here: [link]

This is based off of my last tutorial.

Making a tutorial is time consuming! So with this one I just wanted to do a quicky and get it done.

This one starts with the basic measurements but I also use an armature. The anatomy in this one is more accurate than the last also. In my opinion (and more interesting).

Any questions, please ask!

OMG!!!!! Thank you so much! Currently I am getting back into digital drawing but I've always had trouble drawing guys. I haven't been able to find a male body tutorial showing the full body all together and in front view. Again, thank you so much!

hey I have a question. Is there anyway you can explain the trochanter line ? I dont really get the purpose of it.

It's just a reference point. The trochanter line essential represents where the greater trochanter would be on either femur. It's good to use the skeleton as the basis of your drawings because the skeleton really is what gives structure to any animal. In this tutorial it's a good starting point for attaching the line of the legs and some of the muscles. Here is another tutorial that uses the trochanter line as a reference point: [link] and here is a different approach: [link]

And the trochanter is like were the groin or crotch usually is right

Nope, the crotch is below the trochanter line.

what exactly IS the trochanter line? i've never heard of that before

SteveGibson In reply to KandiSOUL [2012-09-27 12:14:21 +0000 UTC]

Right! The trochanter line connects the two "greater trochanters", they are at the top of your femur bone. This tutorial is based off of this one: [link] (so go check that one out and it'll make everything a little bit clearer!) sorry bout the confusion, was just trying to do a quick tut :\

it is indeed very helpful as its one of the few torso tuts that incorporates how i draw my own torso my problem is mostly aliment but it uses the same egg shape so its easy to follow were the shoulders,neck,pelvis,etc...attach now if only i could figure how to draw it from a diff perspective/view -_-'
