It's true.It's okay if you're honestly "bad" at drawing. Everyone has to start somewhere.
But posting traces means you are stealing art.
I don't care if your real art looks like a chimp threw crayons at some paper- stealing is what's going to lose you respect!

'Bad' is very debatable at times because beauty is all in the eye of the beholder including in art, but there is absolutely no beauty in tracing.

I agree wholeheartedly. And while tracing helps beginners get a feel for drawing, it should never be posted on an online gallery.

Unfortunately, the deviantART admins started allowing traces to be posted in the fan art gallery.
