just last evening's sunset over the puget sound looking at morey island.used the 70-200 f/2.8L IS with a circular polarizer.

yeah thisis a nice shot, the water almost looks like sand. Looks pretty neat if you even stretch it onto desktop.

cool shot, amazing sunset, but the sun has jagged edges from oversharpening.

i'm going to have to disagree with you about the oversharpening tho. the sun wasn't spherically perfect to begin with. that would be from the heat. have you ever taken a picture of the sun and looked at it full size?

WOW!! How the hell did I miss this!? You don't get to see this often in Washington unless you live on the water. Absolutely fantastic.
Question; how much of a difference does the IS on the lens make?

well...this was handheld at 1/10th of a second. it probably would have come out blurry without the IS and no tripod.

I will take your word for it then. I can't afford a lens with IS right now, but eventually.
