You want to see something awful and great at the same time?This is 10 years progression. So glad I waited and developed the story and characters. Remember, you will always get better if you keep it up and draw every day. Also you can tell it took so long to improve, cos Mias got a tan and grew more hair.
Urrrgh... 2007. urrrgh 2011 too.

That be some fabulous improvement there! I love that it's about a glass of orange juice. Haha.
Now can you do 2017 with the energy of 2011? I feel like the expression, pose and technique improved in 2017, but you also maybe got a little too tight on how things are supposed to look, vs how you can distort them to really sell an energetic moment.
I've been trying to work this back into my own art.Β Sometimes I feel like my pieces now have much better shape and technique, but some of my older ones had more 'life'.Β I've been working to improve line art, color and anatomy, as well as learning how to do semi-realistic characters.Β Maybe for a while, I need to go back to drawing things like really cartoony cartoons, like Looney Toons and Tom and Jerry. Need to get my feel back for exaggeration.

I can definitely see an improvement from 2007-2017, but at the same time, I think there's a certain fun in the 2007 artwork as well. I understand wanting to be at your best, but I bet the comic would have been pretty fun with the old style as well. It just would have had a different feel.

The art is better in 2017 but I actually like the expression better in 2011. I think it's cause there is more expression in that one, in 2017 he just looks more like he' inspecting the glass, but in 2011 he looks like he's like "OH Yeah! This is it! Boo Yah~!"
IDK could just be my personal taste. They all look amazing ^_^

in 2007, Mias seems like he's cackling over mad science. in 2011 he looks like he's giving an impassioned speech on the violence he's going to commit, either with or to the glass. in 2017, he seems a little fascinated by the glass in his hands, largely pleased, but he mostly gives off the vibe that he's found the object of his next conquest. Orange Juice *shall* be a convenience for his enjoyment for many days to come.

When I saw that it reminded me of Popeye and his spinach. Lol I'm laughing so hard to myself right now.... but VERRRRRY good progress. Ive always liked drawing but I've also been impatient with my not yet satisfied skill. The only thing I'm good at is playing music (Clarinet and piano, but I suck at guitar)

Wow. I found you around 2011. But seeing the progress from 2007 to 2017, it is such a weird experience when you watch an artist grow. Its a cool one....I guess I would call it nostalgia lol Cause I was back in high school in 2011. And now Im in college looking at this. Mias still looks handsomely adorable as ever!

This is great! I've seen this allot- people start with anime-like style and then slowly develop something unique. It's like the character grows on you and shows more and more of you with time.
Oh, and I must say his hair looks gorgeous now.

Mias is, hands-down, the *worst* character that I love to read about. Β I feel so sorry for Elle having to deal with him, but I can't help but smile every time he shows up.
I love the progression here! Β 2007 is still pretty good, but the improvement is noticeable. Β Nice work!

Crazy for OJ, Committing to the moment, Sinister as hell!Β I adore when artists do this kind of comparison.Β It's hard to look back but it's also educational and helps to show how far we've come.Β I think it's wonderful.Β And I think you're wonderful for not letting go of your desire to tell a rich and beautiful story.Β It's so much work and dedication to a craft and you can tell you love these characters.Β Thank you for doing it.Β You're awesome!
