Continuing on my road trip around the Four Corners States, I drove up into Utah to Moab, home of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Then I hiked out to False Kiva with a couple friends to watch the sun set. For a while it seemed like there'd be no break in the cloud cover, but suddenly the sun burst through and the mesas lit up. That sounds almost exactly how my trip went when I was down there about a month ago. Every day it rained and it seemed that the clouds would never clear. But every once in a while Mother Nature would show some mercy.

Thanks! We hiked out there because of the cloud cover...it's not very common in the desert, but of course too overcast wouldn't have worked either. It was really nice to have everything go perfectly.
