This is magnificent. You certainly have a talent for colored pencil. It looks like an oil painting.

Love when watercolor does that grainy thing & all the natural shapes and patterns just happen. Great to see it on a scale like this, fabulous work!

This is really lovely. How the colours and shapes blend into each other...I can see different landscapes in this, depending on what sections I look at or how I twist my view. Very intriguing, a "wall piece"

I can totally see this on my wall, I'd probably see a cavern with a lake in it if I were to flip it on the side. Great piece !

This ruined puzzle is beige
With the pieces all face down
So the placing goes slowly
The picture's of anything other than it's meant to be

But the hours, they creep
Patterns repeat
Don't be concerned
You know I'll be fine on my own
I never said, "Don't go."

But I've hidden a note
It's pressed between pages
That you've marked to find your way back
It says, "Does he ever get the girl?"

But what if the pages stay pressed
The chapters unfinished
The story too dull to unfold?
Does he ever get the girl?

This basement's a coffin
I'm buried alive
I'll die in here just to be safe
I'll die in here just to be safe

Cause you're gone
I get nothing
And you're off with
Barely a sigh
I never said, "Goodbye."

So I've written a note
It's pressed between pages
That you've marked to find your way back
It says, "Does he ever get the girl?"

I've written a note
It's pressed between pages
That you'll read if you're so inclined
It says, "Does he ever get the girl?"

But the hours, they creep
Patterns repeat
Don't be concerned
You know I'll be fine on my own
I never said, "Don't go."

Don't go

Does he ever get the girl?

Wow... I like this. It reminds me of all sorts of things all at once. Cave formations, reflections in a lake, castle ruins, or some sort of magical place with homes built into the side of cliffs. Beautiful colors.

I really love this...

When I looked at it for a while, I saw a four-poster bed, the kind you find in country hotels where you and a lover escape for the weekend... the colours only served to further this image and make me think of passion and how when it gets intense, reality blurs and things feel like they're melting into each other...

It's beautiful, really beautiful!

yes, try it... that was my first watercolor attempt, might do some more.
i seem to like drawing with pens and pencils more though, doing the fine little details...

PatGoltz In reply to strohat [2004-12-10 11:26:07 +0000 UTC]

I think the idea of using water color as the base and then using pencil or pen on top of that works well. I appreciate the idea. I personally have much better control over pens and pencils, which is why I prefer them.

i think i should try this technique!! haha... wow, and most fabulous of all is that its hard to tell where the wc ends and the pencil begins.... in fact, the mixing of the media actually (in my opinion) makes it look like an acrylic piece. the pencil gives the wc a substantiality that wc intrinsicly elides. really interesting and completely stunning definitely a
