Description
An attempt at Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass style (though I've never played either of them! :S)Normally, whenever I try do anything chibi style, things go horribly wrong.. But this one turned out pretty cute (surprisingly)
I finished Zelda Twilight Princess recently (and I absolutely loved it!!) which rekindled my love for the Zelda series and inspired me to do this. I must say, the ending of that game brought a tear to my eye
Expect to see some Midna fanart in the future (cuz she's awesome)
..Oh crap.. I forgot, Link's left-handed

It's really nice and the style is good They should use this style, like a "taller" version of WW/PH/ST style
in some game.
And the left-hand thing? He is left-handed, but in this picture he's posing as TP Link xD

Wow, a great picture!
It looks a bit older than he actually is, but that makes it even better, I always wanted to know was WW Link would look like as a Teen! ^^
You never played Wind Waker? That's a pity. It's my personal favorite in the Zelda series (but I love all of the games)
Every time Link is under the age of 17, he's just tooooo cute!!!^^

Thanks!
I'm not very good at drawing chibi style characters.. they always turn out with slightly more realistic proportions than they probably should.. He still looks sooo cute as a teen WW style
Actually, I got Wind Waker just a little while ago! I've been playing it like crazy (already half way through!) and I'm loving it so far. I think I like this one more than Twilight Princess

Yeah, me too. Wind Waker has more memorable characters and story parts. With Wind Waker, I remembered every single face for ever after playing it and liked most of them. Twilight Princess Character desings, however, gave me nightmares and I forgot most of the characters after a month.
Wind Waker's world was just more... lively. ^^

I'm curious how this would look flipped. XD everything I've seen and taken note of suggests his hair parts on the other side too (if at all)...though if you flip it, the belt buckle (IS that a belt buckle?) may end up backwards. heh, the details as such can be a pain sometimes, can't they.
all that really doesn't matter though, it's getting nitpicky this is still really well done overall, and very cute! I love it! ~fav's~

Thanks
I tried flipping it when I noticed that I'd done some things on the wrong side, but that just ended up making the entire picture look warped and deformed (well, to me anyway). The flaws in the work were easier to notice as well. His eyes, for instance appeared even more unbalanced... So, I thought I'd leave it the way it was and hope the mistakes weren't that noticeable. It might just be me who sees it as horrible when flipped (I tend to be very critical of my own work)
And thanks for the fave!! Glad you like it, flaws and all.

haha, well your eye could be right. things aren't perfect mirror images when split down the middle, so it wouldn't surprise me if some things seem warped.
flaws and all, it's definitely cute. ~laughs~ have you seen my work? it's full of flaws - and I can't correct mistakes in pen my version of Link has two chins XD ...anyway, y'know, if you hadn't have mentioned it, I wouldn't have noticed the switch in the first place

Lately I've been reversing my drawings to find mistakes and fix them up. I tend to draw things on the right side of my characters better than the left...
I couldn't see two chins on your version of Link! It was actually pretty accurate to the real Link.
Do you do your art in pencil first, or do you use pen straight away? You could scan your images onto photoshop (or a similar program, even paint!) and correct any mistakes from there. That's what I do

did you full view it? XD it's there. I messed up on the whole jaw line. oh yeah, and the clothes too - that tiny cross-tie XD
and I use pen straight away - and there's a specific reason for this. when I worked in pencil, I would get obsessed with fixing my mistakes, and I was never satisfied...and I threw out a lot of good drawings because of it >< I'm a bit scared that I may have the same problem if I used PS or something on them...but at least I'd have the original to go back to if I'm not happy, I guess.
so I dunno. maybe I will, when I learn my way around PS

Full viewed it, but it's nothing photoshop or paint couldn't fix and the clothes look fine to me.
I can be the same sometimes, rubbing out teensy little mistakes so much that I'd eventually burn a hole through my paper. I'm far more reluctant to use pen though, even when inking over pencil sketches. I'm worried about the ink running or the pen slipping and ruining the drawing entirely. But photoshop helps... A LOT.

see, that's what I was hoping the pen would teach me: how to live with my mistakes so I don't become obsessed. ...it's kind of turned into a crutch though ><
inking over stuff, yeah I wouldn't be able to do that easily either, for the same reason. if you've already got a decent drawing, that could mess it up.
I d/led the trial version of PS the other night...we'll see how it goes.

Blue eyes AND right handed? Oh noes.
I think the suberb shading, awesome texture, hot pose, hot hair, and your excellent and cute style of Link make up for everything.
This is so cute! You capture Link so nicely. <3

Lol, well, I could always just flip the image... But it'd look even wonkier than what it already is.
Thanks
