Description Willets are fairly common breeding shorebirds of salt marshes here along the Northumberland Strait coastline of southeastern New Brunswick (Canada). With a rather subdued plumage when at rest, they show very bold black-and-white wing markings in flight and are extremely vocal when defending their territories.

Here in the Shediac area there seems to be one or two pairs hanging on in each of the few remaining remnants of salt marsh that haven't been filled in to be covered with cottages and condominiums.....
