My first time making an SD character. I'm quite satisfied with the result.

Process: research Brainy Smurf look > HB on paper > 0.5 mm ball point* > erase > turnip nib dip pen > whiteout corrections > scan > colour in photo manip progr.

* I usually use G pen, but as I drew it on regular copy paper, I didn't want the water in the ink to warp the paper.

Now you may be asking: Why? WHy? wHY? whY?
Answer: one of the websites I frequent recently upgraded it's forum software and, long story short, the animated gif that I've been using for the past 7 or 8 years is no longer valid as an avatar... so, cue brainstorming session. On that site, I've been given the personal nickname "smarter than Brainy Smurf", for reasons I can't fathom. Anyhow, the above is the result of the brainstorming session. The final pic probably could've been a bit more dynamic. But hey, it's a first try!
