Oh God this part... it totally broke my heart, and having experience in dealing with older relatives with Alzheimer's and/or Dementia didn't help... I'm glad Stan got his memories back, though. It might be a bit cheap, but screw it, this time, I really don't mind.

My thoughts exactly. I seriously thought they were going to leave Stan like that at first, to kind of going with the harsh reality of growing up angle that the show seemed to be going in later episodes, but I'm glad they ended on a happy note. It was a bit of a cop out, but I think a lot of people would have been upset.

Yeah, that's why I don't like downer endings, though bittersweet endings will do in a pinch. But in this case, I'm fine with Stan getting his memories back. Plus they kinda foreshadowed that the right stimulus could cause memories to return... so there's that.

That is true. And there wasn't any real reason why he couldn't have gotten his memories back. I've seen some shows where they completely forego reality to make everything happy in the end.

I'm still on the fence about him getting his memory back though. Like, if Stan would have stayed that way, it would have wrecked me. But I feel that it would have been a stronger ending, since I think Ford would hopefully had stayed to take care of his brother, and it would have been the final "nail in the coffin" of GF's theme of having to grow up and having to deal with having a grandparent with dementia. I've never been a big fan of cop-out sacrifices, but I'm glad it ended on a happy note.

This is really awesome though, and I totally agree. Stan lost in amnesia was one of the cutest yet most heartwrenching things I've ever seen.
