what I don't understand is that in #2 you say color it in but how and still have the lines in the eyes.

i have a question. What version of photoshop do you use? Because I recently downloaded CS3, and I was trying out your tutorial, and maybe it's because I'm not used to CS3, or it could be that you use a different version, but I am very confused as what I am to do. For one, step 2 left me baffled [heh, I had the urge to use that word], and also, I cannot seem to find the burn tool.

Hi girl...I'd like to try using your tut, but I have some questions.... How do you change eye color and skin color? Which photoshop option do you use to keep the details under the color? I tried, but when I color the pic, I cover the details....
I'm beginnig in photoshop use...

I was wondering.

At the beginning of the tutorial the picture had very orangey skin, then in the middle it changed to greyish. Is this the result of the "colour around the eye step"? I had presumed that "around the eye" mean around the iris and the colour given seems a lot peachier than the end skin tone.

Other than that, it is a clear tutorial and I think your eye pictures show a lot of skill in photo manipulation.

Thanks.

I've always wondered how people achieved this sort of effect.

What does "the color in the middle" mean, though?

4Torre In reply to Aerimne [2008-05-06 17:56:38 +0000 UTC]

You can do it quite easily with Photoshop, most versions would do..
However I advise you to get CS2 or CS3.

xR3drum In reply to 4Torre [2008-05-06 22:24:28 +0000 UTC]

If CS2 is cheaper by a good bit, I'd get that. CS3's not much of an upgrade, just a few technical things have been added.

But CS is a bit overrun now, the Warp function works wonders with manipulation and it comes with CS2 and later.

:]

awesome tutorial! but there's just one thing i didn't understand. I tried doing this with my eye, but I didn't get very far because i didn't understand one of your steps. when you say to pick a color and then "color it in" with the brush tool, what exactly do you mean? I can't just color over my eye, b/c that just makes a big blurr, of course. Can you be a little more explanatory please. I am entirely interested in making one of these.
