I've noticed with the actress that she has one eye lower than the other.. anytime I see her face I stare at it... love how you drew Gerard

Damn, I really need to see this film now. What's Gerard Butler's voice like when not singing? I'm imagining deep and sexy.

I got that one I see what you mean about her eyes though, there is definately one higher than the other. So she's pretty but wonky
I might try seeking out that film today. Cheers

Wow! Very pretty. I like the colours you used on this image.
I think you absolutely MUST see the movie. It's amazing, with fantastic music, beautiful scenography and of course shows great skills of Gerard Butler as an actor and a singer. I'm sure you'll like it.

From the stills I've seen of the movie it looks gorgeous. I've not actually seen Gerard Butler in action yet. I'm going to have to see at least one of his films

He's an extremey talented actor, however sometimes he plays in very poor movies.
You definitely should check out the soundtrack for the "Phantom of the Opera", it amazes not only musical enthusiasts.

*gasps* You haven't seen it!? Admittedly, now that Gerard Butler is doin' the Sparta thing and my teenage hormones have faded somewhat, I'm a little less keen on the adaptation (mostly due to some of the unusual directorial choices and singing styles) But it's still quite a lovely movie in terms of sets, costumes and lighting and unusually pretty people.
I love the overall earthiness of the colours and the contrast. The clothing looks quite good too, especially Christine's dress and his glove.
Well done!

I saw a trailer for Cloverfield the other week, and there was not one ugly person within the throng! It's a funny thing but especially with big budgets or horror movies everyone tends to look as though they've just walked out of a catalogue
I'm glad you mentioned his glove. I'm quite proud of that glove
Thank you

I love the songs in the movie. I just really hate the damsel-in-distress character of Christine. :/
Make a tutorial. All you good artists never make tutorials. :3

Will have to make a tutorial, because it does look like good fun. You can all see the huge amount of mistakes I go through.
Could be fun to do a poll on who to paint. Can I do polls or do I have to be a paying member?

Y'have to be a paying member. >.< But you could just do a journal poll, and have people comment to vote.
Do a girl. Because females are awesome. :3

I think you're right there. I haven't got many paintings of women on here. I don't know who to paint though. I'll have to seek through google images, try to find an interesting photo.
Cheers for that, it's given me food for thought

I love the way you show light on faces, and those colours are just WOOOOOW!
Makes me want to learn how to use acrylics properly.

Acrylics are great (they dry so quick you can paint over mistakes ) and most importantly: they're very cheap.

Wow! That's so good! It looks almost as if it were a photo photoshopped to look like a painting! Great job.

That's a really high compliment indeed. I have photoshop and know how easy it would be to do, but then what would I do with my canvas?
Probably build a house with 'em, the amount I have

Cheers. I've always been fascinated with faces. When I was a child I used to do portraits of my friends and family (they never paid me, the tight gits!)

Ahaha yeah I really try hard when I do faces. I've been told that I do faces well, but I'm not so sure.
I try though!
Cheers

I say it's no good wearing a mask unless there's a good looking man behind it. Scarred? Who cares? As long as the cheekbones are good and they will pay for dinner, then they have my vote
