Dood these colors are amazing! *O* Thanks, she looks awesome!!
I need to learn to draw characters at a high angle like that. Then I'll be a 15% happier person.

I'm glad you like it! <3
I use references when drawing poses from certain angles, it helps out a lot!

Wow, that's a smart idea. I feel really stupid for not thinking of it x'''D

Refs help out a ton!!
The hard part is finding the right poses from specific angles.

Oy, I can definitely believe that. I remember during Fighting Tournament it was nigh impossible for me to find a worm's eye view ref of a person

There are programs that let you use 3d models for poses and angles.
But a lot of them are in other languages/cost a fortune/the freeware won't let you save any of the poses you've made.

Oh wow, I know about having to build your own 3D model (have done it for BG help) but I forgot about using it for char's...
That's too bad :/ Why is art stuff always so expensive when artists are so poor??

Oh yeah! 3d Models are great for making backgrounds, I've seen lots of tutorials and videos on how to use 3d programs to make base environments for art. Theres even some for making 3d character models and posing them in said environment. I've seen people use 3dsMax to do that.
Thats a good question, why are digital programs, specifically ones for art and design, super expensive?
I know Adobe products are crazy expensive cause they're super well known and they don't have any actual competitors in the market, so their prices are always going to be super high.

I do know how to use Maya, but sadly is was a 3-year student trial version and it expires this year. And buying the program is definitely out of the quesiton ;A; At least google sketchup is free (for now x'D)
Yeah Adobe products and Wacom basically have a stranglehold on the digital art market. At least there's stuff like manga studio and TVpaint which are really good but not five trillion dollars...

I heard Google sketch up is get for backgrounds!
I'm not sure if you can make humanoid or animal models in it.
Cause then you'll be all set for using 3D models for references!
Yeah, that's the sad part. They're great companies, but they don't have any real competition so they can make their prices as ridiculous as they want.
I've heard Manga studio is a good program! I don't think I've seen anything for tv paint though.

I'm pretty sure sketchup has a realistically-sized little 2D human in the program for scale but I'm not sure you can place your own models in it. That'd be cool!
One of my roommates swears by TV paint. She does 2D animation in it for the Homestuck video game. I wanna try it cuz she says it comes with a tool where you can build your own perspective grid to draw backgrounds on top of :3

Thats still good though! That helps with scaling things! Even if you can't get your own models in, you still have the 2d thing to help ya.
YOOO!! She does animation work for the homestuck game??? Thats awesome!
I could use a good perspective tool, I need practice in that area lol.
I'm definitely gonna look up videos on TV Paint to see what its like.

Yas and the animation looks sooo good *o* (me, her, and another roommate all have our workspaces in the living room so we all see what each other is doing x'''D) It's gonna be a great-looking game, yo.
Yeah I am dying because I hate perspective and am very, very bad at it. That's amplified whenever I have to try fixing a perspective mistake at work eOe' A perspective grid maker would be a lifesaver tool.

Sweeeeetttt!!!!
Art programs should totally implement a perspective tool.
That would help so many people out!
