its a fantastic shot, if i was you i would probably just edit the original again for the clouds and make sure it looks more natural and white clouds fluffy. then feather the top section of the image and place it over the foreground section of the HDR.
amazing shot either way, cant believe the places you go

that would be the best way around it... I could try HDRing each half of the shot and then blending.... sounds like hours of fun

Sometimes the effect is what I want out of the camera but mainly
I try to get the pics to an inner idea of how I want them... sorta
digital painting in a way BTW.. every comercial photo you see anywhere in
the world in print has been photoshopped!

Thanks John.... this is one of those you see with you photographic eye driving along a dirt road and then have to find a spot to do a U turn.. I am very adept at handbrake turns a la cops shows due to a bit of off road motorsport in my past... hehheh good fun!
Thanks for the comment

How do you get this effect in the sky?
Is a photoshop manipulation? a special lens?
Maybe it's a secret?
Very nice picture anyway...

I was scared the tree was to far away but the closer shots I took don't come near this... which was the first instinctive position I took.

Aha! I ususally find that, trying lots of different biews only to decide on the first! Of course, If I only take one shot it's usually crap
