Stretched out on the couch
you start to purr
so soft and fluffy
is your fur
eyes so bright
a soft pale green
the coldest nose
I've ever seen.
The gait so gracious
full of stealth
a shiny coat
glowing with health.
Relaxation is
for you an art
at catching mice
you are so smart.
Character wise
you can be stubborn
you decide
who you're going to rub on.
Head butts
you can do real good
and at meal times,
well it's understood
Only the best
for you we chose
otherwise
you turn up your nose
but you know
how to bring us round
make us laugh
just fooling around.
We are here

thank you for this very nice one, it´s an adorable work... 
btw. our smokie is really ill - the vet took some blood and let it be analized, and they found out that she has an inflammation in her pancreas, that´s why she couldn´t eat and drink and vomited all the time... now she gets some water, essential nutriens and medical care injected - three times a day - we started yesterday in the evening, and she already looks better today - after merely sitting around for days, she´s now much more active and meows again - also her eyes are much brighter already - so, keep fingers crossed...
...and yet another btw. - my uschi got "downton abbey" on dvd, and yesterday i watched two issues - it´s really excellent: the costumes, the old cars, the scenarios are absolutely perfect, you get the feeling of permanently looking at old paintings - the actors fit so well, and there are many! the way they act and talk is very convincing - you really feel the old time (1924) like it must have been - i can highly recommend to watch it...

Thanks, I might start to watch "Downton abbey" too, I´ve heard so much about it, all good. I have just watched the costume drama "Selfridge" mr Selfridge was the first department store owner in London who came from America, set in the 1920/30's and really enjoyable.

thank you for your good wishes - yes, after three days of injections she got a special diet to eat and she is really well on her way again now...
i just found an old self made postcard from the time when i still lived alone, "humanwise", there were three cats with me - it´s sweet, but somehow i never sent it to anyone - so now i can scan it and hopefully soon upload it to my gallery...
a while ago there was another old time series on german tv -"the knick" about doctors in america, especially one black man becoming a doctor and having to fight with racial enmities - i watched a bit of it and found it also very well made, but then i didn´t like all the blood of the medical side of that series, haha...

You do seem to capture something extra - not just the likeness - as though you can see the thoughts going on in her head. A very knowing cat I would say!
