David Smith presents The Animation Collection!This is a series of animations that display my skills with the animated art form over the past year and a half.
This next one is the ability to make a character look like he/she is jumping. I decided to use Dave again and not only drew in his amazing leap of faith, but a short little start and finish pose for added fun.
Only thing I'm not pleased with is the landing, which Dave seems to just "nimbly" land. I hope to one day refine it further to really give the feeling of his body mass leaping and landing. Perhaps even in an action sequence.
NOTE: May need to refresh the page in order for the animation to loop

Maybe you could have him slightly stumble when he lands? I'm not an animator, so I wouldn't know. Haha.

That is a good point. A slight stumble would add a bit more realism and weight on impact. When I made this, this was back in Year 1 of my degree so I was quite happy just to make anything move. However, I've improved since then and try to add more realism and weight than I did before.
.......Well, within reason. If I can cheat in areas, it can't hurt
