you know how i felt about this, especaily with the whole posing thing

but i wanted to say a few things i noticed that i didnt before;
i dont like the position of his foot. its too upfront, like he's trying to escape or something. and it cuts the smoothness of the cone of their shapes together. that made no sense lol. but if his foot was back abit, it would be more 'together'
her hair, its just too damn ordinary and 'every day' . her dress is magnificant, and i know this wasnt their wedding day, but the hair just makes it look fake, and almost, like if someone knew Zero about the background of this shot, it'd look like u just got a random girl to put on the dress and pose.
i promise im not trying to be mean here.
and i know your not a hair and makeup person, your just taking the shot.
there is a part of her dress coming out from behind on the left and seems to have hit the sun alot and gotten overexposed, its kinda distracting.
also that shadow of the pillar at the bottom right, looks like something from my shots with my crazy lens
it would have also been nice if they were actually in the middle of the shot, atm they are slightly to the right.

but its a beautiful piece overall, i love the lighting

This is actually a perfect example of why to get a 'wedding photo' after the wedding and honeymoon, because they are all tanned, beautifull, still in love and have not had the stress of the nerves and wedding to get through. I love the setting, especially how you've got the lighting highlighting her features and highlighting the strength of him.

Great scouting, great lighting, fabulously beautiful couple and a perfect 'wedding' clothes and personality shot.
Beautifull.

They looks so good togheter and what style!
I hope they could watch this shot in their house for long time, bringing always the same love of that day.
As usual you gift people something that they already have...but "inside".

there's nothing a just-married look of Love! I love their peacefull, yet adoring look... I love her dress (gourgeous indeed) and it's nice to see him in white, not in black as I'm used to see

The blurry end also fits very well, but what I like the most is the place you've chosen to take the picture - and to know that you didn't do any "filter job" in photoshop

Very well done!

It brings wedding cataloges to my mind. I don't know if that's that famous professionalism everyone's talking about, I ain't a photograper. Everything's so in place and perfect and posed and still.. maybe it's just not my style But you are skillfull with your camera, that I'm glad to admit.

good work, Kevin. Any extra light sources, or was this all available light?

yes... all natural. it was a bright day. for this one i waited until a cloud went over the sun a bit to make a softbox effect

Help? I wasn't really that much help. Except for moving a table and chairs for the other shot. I just hoped and prayed I wouldn't get in the way ... hinder the thought process for the photographer.

Still can't get that place out of my head, sooo many photo opportunities for this kind of shoot. This was one of my personal faves though.

This is beautiful. Perfect setting for an elegant wedding portrait. Lighting and composition and well planned. I like that the bride is facing into the light and that her face and gown are well featured.

ah, that's better, this time he doesn't look quite as much like the guy I helped purpose. lol
Beautifully done!

What kind of filters do you use in PS? I would love for my stuff to be able to look half as good as yours.

superkev In reply to frogking [2005-06-11 04:14:07 +0000 UTC]

i don't use any photoshop filters. the best way is to plan your shooting in advance and scout good locations for light. in this case i arranged the shoot for early evening which has nice light, and shot facing south so the light was on my right. you have to make the world your studio.

frogking In reply to superkev [2005-06-11 16:17:47 +0000 UTC]

thanks! I'll keep that in mind when I'm going for the professional shots. I do a lot of, more "candid", shots mostly, so that's a little harder to plan for lighting.
Thanks again!

A gorgeous photo, to be sure. And the white just POPS against the muted colors of the columns.

sumajarong [2005-06-11 00:01:26 +0000 UTC]

The composition..the way you framed them up within the columns..is what strikes me first...excellent. And the colors just work together perfectly..the white of the dress and the offwhite of his shirt and the columns..with just that little bit of green in the background. A wonderful portrait of a beautiful couple. Great work with this Kevin.

wow, that's a drop dead gorgeous couple
they look pretty happy and tanned after Cuba!

the classic cloisters/corridor wedding shot, done superbly of course. I really love how her face is lit by the natural light, and sort of reverse silhouetted by the greenery at the end of the corridor

hehe there was a guy who got out of his car on the other side of those columns and he said something like, "wow. you two are the best looking couple i've ever seen in my life!" they were all embarassed. really funny
