#128: Heraviel (Hero+Valiant)

Description: While ORCHAUS is the source of chaos and doom, HERAVIEL is the source of order and hope. The two have been clashing in an eternal struggle since the dawn of time, fighting over their respective ideals. HERAVIEL is the only POkemon that has the power to seal ORCHAUS away.

Finally, after 4 years of working on this project, it all ends with this, the final entry of the Sapio Dex, and the counterpart to the deadly Orchaus! Ladies and gentlemen...meet Heraviel, the Savior Pokemon!

Design-wise, seeing as how I based Orchaus off of Yamata no Orochi, I figured it would make sense to base Heraviel off of the heroes of that legend: The legendary swordsman, Izanagi, and the god(dess) of the sun, Amaterasu! Yeah...the end result was glorious! X3

Anyways, stat-wise, Heraviel a bit of a lower BST than Orchaus, put that doesn't make it any less powerful. It has a monstrously high physical attack stat, and it's speed is quite high as well. The only stat of his that's a bit lacking is his Special Defense, but, despite that, Heraviel can still take a good couple of hits just fine. Everything else is rather balanced......for a legendary, anyways, so he can pretty much do just about anything, but physical attacks are his main choice of combat.

As for its move capabilities, if you're looking for a fair battle, Heraviel is the Pokemon to use. Aside from the obvious fighting moves like Force Palm, Close Combat, Counter. etc., it can also learn moves like Lucky Chant, Refresh, and Punishment via level-up. It also learns a wide assortment of sword-based moves: Swords Dance, Sacred Sword, Slash, Psycho Cut, etc. via level-up. Oh, and Last Resort. Because reasons. TM-wise, it can also learn Safeguard, Reflect, Light Screen, and Calm Mind, on top of the other TMs you'd expect to find on a typical Fighting-type/sword-based Pokemon.

However, like most of my legendaries, Heraviel's signature stuff are where it really shines! First off is his ability, Pure Order. For starters, it completely negates Orchaus's Pure Chaos ability, so that's a big plus, right there. But its main draw is that it negates the use of stat changes and status conditions for both sides as long as Heraviel is out on the field. So, your completely immune to the stuff, but, at the same time, you can't pull that stuff with your opponents either. Me, making a BALANCED ability? What is this madness!?

Heraviel is also the only Pokemon other than Exirak who can learn the special HM move Pure Light via level-up. if you want a description on what it does, look up my description for Exirak (Entry #122). I explain it there.

And then, there's its piece de resistance, Equilibrium! This...is a very powerful move. No, it doesn't do damage. What it does...is that it's essentially a complete battlefield reset! Stat changes of any kind; negated! Status conditions; cured! Field hazards like Spikes or Stealth Rock; gone! Field changes like Trick Room; nullified! It's pretty much the ultimate form of auto-balancing! It only has 5 PP to it's name, though, so use it wisely...

And finally, there's its final attack, Celestial Cleaver! (Those played Okami will immediately get what I'm referencing here.) It's pretty much the counterpart to Chaos Blast, down having the exact same effects. The difference is that Celestial Cleaver is a physical Fighting-type move, and it has 10% more accuracy.

In case it wasn't obvious, Heraviel, simply put, is Orchaus's Achilles heel, as he completely shut downs any sort of tricks that Orchaus, or any other Pokemon for that matter, could possibly come up with. If you want to take Heraviel down, you have to do it fairly and honorably...

And with that, that marks the end of the Sapio Dex series...at least, until I start working out remakes of certain entries who need it most. *coughcoughDemositecoughcough* I hope you've all enjoyed this series as much as I have, and I hope to see you all in the videos to come!
