Description A Lagoon Triggerfish i did for a x-mas gift 2009.
Hawaiian Name is humuhumu-nukunuku-a-pua'a, and the scientific is Rhinecanthus aculeatus.
"The Hawaiian name of this fish refers to its pig-shaped snout, but its beauitful color pattern distinguishes it from the reef triggerfish which bears the same Hawaiian name."
State fish for Hawaii.
These fish paintings are always so fun and a great way to play with paints. Watercolors are such a fun and playful medium, hard to lean but i just have fun in my own way with them.

Watercolor on paper.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks, the colors are like that as its layering colors from light to dark and making sure thier not to heavy or muddy. I'm getting better with contrast and lighting.

Thanks, i've been watercoloring now for a few years.
I'm geting looser with the watercolors, and playing with FX and other methods more and more.
It really fun for me as the colors are bright due to being transparent and working light to dark colors.
Lends its self to lots of lighting and mood type of emotions i guess.
I'm having fun and besides it easy to clean up, reworkable, nice to plain air (painting outdoors), and is a mixture of drawing and painting.(Windslow Homer is a awesome watercolorist from England, check 'em out if you like watercolors, old master)

I'd highly recommend checking out his work. Also classic asian sumi-ink and watercolor paintings.
