Thank you. I remember drawing this while my fingers were still part-fozen after going home by bike on a rather cold winter day. So the impression was still quite vivid.

Hey, do you use ink/dip pen? And any tips on how to draw such smooth and gorgeous lines, and those hands that makes me faint?

well, my lines get smoother the faster I draw and the more I follow the flow of my wrist. psychologically it's quite tricky sometimes, for you have to lose the fear of messing up. but it looks way more ... alive that way.
btw, I used my favorite drawing pen here.

thankees.
I did it after I was biking home through a pretty cold winter's day ... so I had the chill still in my bones while drawing ...

Wow. This is a definite fav for me.
Very very nice atmospheric perspective in this piece and I love the overall movement of it. The blending of warm and cool grays works especially well. I think that my only concern is that the figure is so centralized and I'm wondering if perhaps you could try shifting her over to one side of another. Simply to through off the expectedness of this composition.
But really, lovely work.
What materials did you use for this, if you don't mind my asking?

thank you. (:
well, I used almost everything within desk-distance - ink, watercolour, some white gouache, pencil and pastells.
I'm not that satisfied with that passe partout, either ... it's already been shifted but to be honest, I've been way to lazy to scan and stitch it together again. I'm hopelessly in love with a strange kind of scetch paper that looks good if you just puts your eyes on it but turns out to be horribly wavey whenever one tries to scan it ...

Very nice, I can totally feel the coldness. From the picture that is, it's well above zero degrees in here. Which is good because when it gets below zero, the rear axle/breaks of my car freeze and I can't go anywhere

my, didn't you live in finland? if it's as cold there as I imagine ... then maybe you should prepare to hibernate.
but let me tell you - biking ain't much better. the skin on my face still feels like beeing ripped off (but public transport would take much longer. >.<.

Actually I think it's warmer here right now. I live in the southernmost part of Finland so it ain't that cold. It's kind of a bummer though - too cold (not to mention too slippery) to ride a bike, too warm for snow. At least in northern Finland winter is done properly, none of this stupid sloshy business.
